SENIORS TRANSIT CHALLENGE The Seniors Transit Challenge is a City of Prince George initiative to provide seniors with information about the range of transit options available to them. The City bus is fully accessible and has a fixed route and fixed schedule. handyDART provides door to door service for people who can’t use the City bus without assistance. We will provide travel training to encourage seniors to try the City bus, and they can give us feedback to help us improve the system. The challenge involves a questionnaire to learn how seniors currently travel around town, and a secondary participation phase where we’ll run three workshops to develop a travel training guide. Respondents to the questionnaire can choose to participate in the workshops, which will run once a month for an hour in March, April, and May. To participate, we encourage seniors to fill out our questionnaire from now until March 3rd, and tell us a bit about themselves and how they travel around. It’s available online at http://bit.do/seniortransit or on paper at City Hall, the Senior Resource Centre, or any of the Senior Activity Centres in town. All questionnaire entries will be entered into a draw for a free monthly transit pass and a 10 visit aquatic pass. Responses are limited to one per person.
