At Performance Foodservice we love storied brands and are all about our history and heritage which dates to 1885 with Pocahontas Foods delivering groceries to food establishments such as delis, grocery stores, and restaurants. Our Roma® brands are also rooted in an Italian deli opened in New Jersey in 1955 by Roma® Foods founder the late Mr. Louis Piancone.
In 2019, we developed and founded Delancey Street Deli® based on the street in lower Manhattan that is credited as the birthplace of the American deli. In homage to the first New York deli — The Delancey Street Deli® portfolio includes whole muscle meats, New York style bagels, heat-and-serve soups, kettle sides, spreads and condiments, gourmet chips, pickles, relishes, sauerkraut, and gourmet cold prepared salads and other prepared foods.
