Just as the journey for the design, building and production of the Modpods take on a life of its own, Maxine will embark on her next chapter of her life too. While she is a born and bred Singaporean (“I have no intention to give up my Singapore citizenship”, Maxine quips), she is nonetheless looking forward to join Brian, in Hawaii. She adds: “It is an exciting journey to be part of the huge military community, and to start a life in another part of the world.” p

About ModPod: Modular Furniture System Designed for Cats Dubbed “the furniture cats can finally use,” Modpod’s modular design offers a way for humans and their four-legged companions to cohabitate. Considered a revolution in the furniture space as it’s furniture designed for both humans and cats in mind. It can function as a coffee table, bed, or bookshelf, and at the same time serves as a well-placed hideout for cats. Measuring 35cm x 35cm x 35cm, the cubes are made with Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS). The material used enable the cubes to withstand heavy usage and adverse environmental conditions. In addition, each Modpodcan hold up to 100kg in weight and it is easily expandable via the addition of more cubes. Tools are not required to assemble a Modpod, just hands and some creative thinking.
