This graduation project explored adaptable housing units through a research-driven design process set in a postSoviet context. I led the development of three key phases:

Designed and implemented motion-capture experiments, using Grasshopper to analyze and translate bodily movement into spatial parameters

Developed spatial concepts aimed at psychological autonomy and user empowerment within private living spaces

Created custom digital tools to merge physical and mental user data into adaptable design strategies

The final phase involved reinterpreting two Soviet-era buildings by stripping away internal constraints and allowing adaptive spaces to grow outward. I designed a speculative, responsive façade—“infected” and ever-evolving—tailored to the occupant’s psychological and physiological needs.

This project focused on the evolution and optimization of a branching (arborescent) structure, exploring its formal logic and structural performance. Special attention was given to the refinement of 3D-printed joints, which were optimized to support the physical construction of the final model. The result is a prototype that merges computational design with digital fabrication techniques, demonstrating both structural efficiency and material precision.
