I believe
I believe that hard work pays off, I believe that everyone should follow their goals and dreams, I believe that people can change and become a better person, I believe that no one is perfect and we must learn how to forgive, I believe we should treat others the same way we would want them to treat us, I believe that time heals but perhaps not everything, I believe that we are capable of more than we think we are, I believe in the importance of spending time alone and getting to know yourself, I believe that it's important to step out of your comfort zone once in a while.
Maja Kermc, 9d
I I believe that dreams can become reality.
I believe we can live without hatred.
I believe that if we have a goal, we will also find a way.
I believe in my friends and family.
I believe people can help each other today for a better tomorrow.
Tijana Simikić, 9c
I believe… that it is possible for everyone to find their happiness.
I believe… that all people in the world were born kind and without prejudice.
I believe… we don't need to judge other people for our happiness.
I believe… that as you treat others, so others will treat you.
I believe… in great relationships between people.

I was a very shy kid. I used to hate the idea of having to talk to strangers, but now I think I've gotten better at talking to strangers. I also used to believe in monsters and now I don't. I didn't use to like sharing things as a kid I guess I was pretty greedy but now I don't really mind sharing things except my food. I think I was also kind off spoiled, since I usually got what I wanted, but I think now that I'm older I've become way more modest when It comes to receiving gifts.
I used to be scared of the dark and I guess I'm not scared of it anymore but sometimes when I'm lying in my bed at night I just can't help but feel a little paranoid. I didn't use to play the guitar when I was younger, the guitar is something that I picked up in my teenage years.
Eva Turković, 9a
When I was younger didn’t use to be scared of monsters. I used to like school. I used to watch cartoons. I used to go out to play every day. I didn’t use to play video games.
Martin Lapanja, 9a
When I was younger I used to be very shy but I didn't use to be afraid of the dark. I didn't use to have an imaginary friend because I had my twin brother Bor. I used to laugh all the time. Even though my life used to be very hard at moments, I didn't use to have many problems in my life. changed, so did my life. Even though I feel safe and I have people that love me, I often feel sad and depressed. I used to have a lot of imagination and I used to dream about my future life. I guess I still do that sometimes but my dreams usually turn out sad. I hope that will change.
Lina Jager :)
When I was younger
When I was younger I used to believe in mermaids and monsters which can only get you at night. I used to believe that our house was a country, countries were continents, that continents were planets and that our planet Earth was a Galaxy. When I was younger I was more confident. I didn't use to believe in aliens and ghosts because I couldn't imagine how planets and space looked. I also used to believe in Santa Claus
Tajda Vidic, 9a
When I was younger I used to be really shy and quiet. I didn't use to like to talk a lot. I also used to have a lot of imaginary friends because I was that shy. I used to hate sports a lot more than today. I didn't use to be able to study as fast as I can today. I also didn't use to worry about things and overthink them.
Ajla Hukanović, 9b
When I was younger, I used to think a lot about unicorns and other imaginary creatures. I used to imagine that the woods behind our house was full of all sorts of creatures and plants. I also used to have an imaginary friend, it was an elf, I called him Diksi, he was really funny and small. Than when I got older I forgot about him, so I made up a story about him exploring a crystal cave forever.
Silvija Rojc, 9a
Some people are old at 18, and some are young at 90. Time is a concept that humans created.
When I was younger I used to be really scared of the dark and spiders but I didn't use to be scared of the snakes but I am now... I used to believe that Harry Potter was real and that sea monsters never went extinct and I used to believe that there were monsters in my room when it was dark.
Žan Žitnik, 9b
When I was younger I used to believe in ghosts. I was afraid of them. Now I still believe in them but I am not afraid of them anymore.
Nejc Križaj, 9b
I used to....
When I was younger I used to think there are monsters under my bed so I always checked if there was anything. When we went to the beach I never swam in the ocean because I used to think something will grab me and pull me under the surface. I used to be scared of the fire because once when I was little there was a fire in our house. I used to never study when I was in lower grades and always get good grades. I used to see some sort of ghosts or energy of people when it was dark. I used to be scared of dolls.
Ajda Vidic, 9a
When I was younger I used to have an imaginary friend. Her name was Ana. I used to talk to her, especially in the afternoon and when I was in my bed. I used to feel safe, when I was speaking with Ana and I didn't use to be scared of the dark. But then, one day Ana went to America. I used to say goodbye to her and from then on, I didn't use to have an imaginary friend anymore. And I didn't use to be scared of the dark too. I used to have a vivid imagination.
Karolina Neva Škulj, 9a
Youth lives on hope, old ages on memories.
I used to play with my Lego house. I used to have an imaginary friend who was very annoying. We used to argue a lot. I used to be afraid of the total dark. I didn't use to like my blinds and curtains to be closed. I didn't use to believe in monsters, vampires, dragons and such creatures. Me and my friend used to invent games. We used to play them for hours.
Zala Šarec, 9a
When I was younger, I used to believe in a lot of things. I used to believe that fairies and other imaginary creatures existed. I used to make many scenarios of me meeting them in my head and I always hoped I'd meet them. I used to imagine that I was able to talk to animals and understand what they were saying. I still think it would be awesome to do such things. I used to care for all my toys as they were my children. I fed them and I read them before I went to sleep. I used to be scared of the dark. At night, I used to have a small light in my room, that would never turn off. I'm not scared of the dark anymore, but I still prefer to have some source of light near me.

I think there will be more robots in the future. I think that a lot of people will start working from home. I hope that there will be more interesting jobs. In my opinion there will be a lot of electric cars. I think that the climate will change a lot. I hope I will be able to find an interesting job.
Anastasija Ristova
Life in the future will be easier. There will be a lot of robots. Robots will work for us. My hopes are that robots won't be invented.
Mark Saje
Life in the Future
There will be flying cars and better future. We'll be able to explore more of the space and ocean. I hope that the cars won't drive themselves. My worries are the Earth will be polluted even more than it already is.
Job Švigelj
A lot of people say that machines and robots will take over our lives. But that isn't true, because they already did. Most of us can't live without our mobile phones and because of the Covid 19 outbreak computers are the most important things we have. I hope we start producing energy in a cleaner way and stop polluting our planet. We certainly will move to other planets, but probably not very soon. I don't think life in the future will be like it's depicted in movies. At least I hope so.
Jure Miljević
My Future Predictions In the future…
In my opinion, life in the future will definitely be different. Not in five years, but maybe in a couple of decades. I think if we won't use more clear energy, people will have to wear gas masks because of polluted air. But with so many new technologies we might save our planet. A lot of wild animals will disappear. I hope that the leaders of the world will act smart, and will do something about it.
But right now, I hope that I will choose a good high school, and later a college, and a good job or work. To me, it's very important to find an interesting and fun job, because I won't survive a boring job.
My first goal is to get good marks in school, so that I will be able to have more choices for what high school I will want to go. After that, my goal is to go to a good college, and start to work quickly, so I will get money fast. Money is really important to me, because I have high standards.
And my biggest life goal is to open my own company and have enough money to feed my family if I will ever have one.
Zala Tomažin
…I think there will be robots doing most of our work, and I don't think money is going to be there, only Bitcoin... I think we won’t be able to go to school, because it will all be robot's work. I think everyone will have the same chance to get a job. I hope that in the future we will be immune to viruses.
My worries are that we aren't going to be outside that much, because all of the friends will be online. I think there will not be any viruses because I hope we will be immune to them.

In my opinion,
I don't think today's cars will exist in the future. We might live on Mars or on some other planet. The climate on Earth may not be good enough for life.
One day we might be able to travel through time!
If people don't change, we will have a huge amount of waste on Earth and a lot of natural disasters will happen. A lot of wild animals might disappear.
I hope people will be able to understand the nature and make a new form of life, friendly to people and nature.
Tija Saje
Ihope
I'll find an interesting job. I'll probably have a family. A lot of wild animals might disappear. I think robots will be doing everything.

What does the Future hold for us?
Don't let your past dictate your future. African proverb
Recycling
In my family we recycle a lot. I always get clothes from my older sister and when they're too small for me, we give them to our neighbours. Andi f we don't give them our clothes, we give them to Humana. There's no way we throw anything into trash. Not even food. When we cook beef soup, we give the bones to our neighbours and they give them to their dog. We always separate paper, plastic, glass, organic and mixed waste. If we have any books or toys we don't need, we give them to our cousins Bine and Ana. If we have batteries to throw away, we never put them into normal trash. But we take them to a shop and put them into a special bin there.
Špela Košir
We always try to recycle things. For example, we give rusted metal, wood, glass bottles and many more things to the recycling centre. At least once a year we take all our old paper to the container at school. Then a truck takes it to the recycling centre. I think recycling is important because it can save our planet.
Teodor Strmšnik
People in Slovenia (and around the globe) care about recycling, however, some people don’t understand the world’s pollution or think: “Ah, there are so many movements and so many people working on this, why should I do something about it?” or even: “Let the politicians figure it out.” A few people even gain millions from pollution, and would their greed allow activists to stop them from gaining money? (No.)
I think recycling is important, and me and my family recycle everything we can. I won’t give you advice, since everyone does this everywhere, and it’s easy to find it. So, please save the environment. Please? I don’t want to live in the sewer.

It's awful. The advantage is that we are at home. The downside, though, is that we have weird measures. That doesn't help at all. We actually need to go to school.
Karolina Popović
The Covid-19 pandemic is a highly contagious virus. It is transmitted from person to person by coughing and sneezing even when we spit something. The advantages of the virus are that we are at home and we are more with the family, when we have distance learning we can do homework for the next few days, which we can't do otherwise when we are at school. I hope the virus is gone soon as we all already have it on top of our heads.
Neli Saje
Above all, I don't think there are too many advantages, but I will try to find some. I really don't like that the borders are closed, because I really like skiing. It's also sad, that I can't celebrate my birthday with my friends and I also can't visit them. One of the advantages is, that I learned to use the laptop/computer better. And I also lost rhythm, it's hard to get organised, because there's no teacher to motivate me. And I sometimes forget to do my (school)work. I'm a little bit afraid to go to school at moment, because you know, I need to prepare. And I have a terrible disease, called BOREDOM... And that BOREDOM is sometimes DEADLY... Just kidding... And on top of that, the same shows are on TV! So, yeah, there aren’t many advantages or many interesting things... but I'm trying to find some funny things. I can't play tennis, because I have a knee injury. That's enough complaints for today...
Oskar

I don't like anything about covid-19. I miss school and my friends. I miss going to school with my school mates. I miss live classes. I hope everything will be as before. No masks, and freedom.
Nal Palamar
I don't like life in the pandemic. I miss my friends. In the time before Corona, we used to go to canoe club and now we can't go. I have a lot of friends there. And we can take a canoe to the river. I miss that a lot. Now I spend all my day in the house and at the computer and on video call.
Aljaž Stanonik
Life in the pandemic is very antisocial, we hang out much less. It is good for nature as it has recovered a bit. We don’t go to school either because we have distance school, but that doesn’t bother me too much.

THERE ONCE WAS A MAN CALLED COVID-19
by Maja Kovačič
There was once a man called Covid-19. He was a strange man, and had weird interests. One day he went to work and he was feeling funny but he went anyway.
At work his crewmates told him to go home because it wasn't safe, but he ignored them. When he got home he tried everything to cure his sickness. But it didn't work, so he then went to the doctors and they took a sample of his DNA and found something really strange... It was something they had never seen before. They called some professional workers to analize it. They found a new deadly virus they said to the doctors. They were all in shock and called the news and everybody to tell them the news!
And now here we are... in quarantine at home... needing to wear masks at all times etc.
So, kids the lesson is to be careful and wash your hands!!!!

What has covid-19 done to this world?
by Naja Belčevski
Covid-19 has done some really bad stuff to this world. In March this year we all got stuck in Quarantine for 3 months. The students had online school and people had to work from home. After 3 months students in Slovenia could finally go to school for some weeks since the situation had calmed down.
And also, the summer holidays were coming. Now again (in October) students from 6th grade to college are doing school work from home.
Since I got a friend from Macedonia I can tell that they haven't been to school since March and they're still learning online. Here in Slovenia there are more chances that we're all going to be stuck at home again for a long time.
Covid-19 has affected a lot of people in this world and about 1,13 million people have died because of it, which is really sad.
I'm really disappointed in some people who are still not wearing masks as they should because we need to take care of each other.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) is an infectious disease. it is transmitted mostly through people when they sneeze and cough. In almost all cases, symptoms are expressed by day 12. Infection can be prevented by disinfecting hands and wearing a protective mask.
Signs of infection include fever, stuffy nose, sore throat and difficulty breathing. We don't have a vaccine yet, but they are trying to invent it.
The first case of COVID-19 was detected in mid-November 2019 in China. In late December 2019, the China World Health Organization reported the discovery of pneumonia of unknown origin in Wuhan. I think the corona virus is dangerous, but some exaggerate with action.

Peter's story about a man called Covid 19th
by Peter Koren
Once upon a time, a man lived by the name of Covid 19th. He had an annoying trait that prevented everyone from making plans for the weekend.
People couldn't deport him because he had infected them with a virus they didn't know about. So, he could wreak havoc across the country in peace. One day, he ruined the plans of some boy who wanted to meet a really good friend who lived in a remote place. The boy wanted revenge! He thought for a long time how to do it, and one day he got an idea. He got into a mole named Marijan and told him he'd pay him with vegetables if he spied on Covid 19th.
Stran 18 | 49
The following week, Marijan found out that Covid 19th was not washing with soap, but only with water (of course, Marijan had binoculars, because moles don't see well). This could only mean one thing. Covid 19th's weakness is soap! The boy poured soap on his seat at his favourite pub and waited for Covid 19th to arrive.
When he came and sat on the soap, his ass hurt him so much that he ran away and never returned to Slovenia.
The boy became a hero, and he was finally able to go to his friend.
The end.

THERE WAS A GUY CALLED COVID-19
by Vid Strojan Hi!
If you don’t know, there was once a 19year-old kid from China named Covid. He was always arguing with his parents and never listened to them. But wait, there is even more!
After a big apocalypse with people dying and getting in quarantine, he is still alive.
Before I tell you this story, I have to tell you THAT story!
After another boring day in school, he ordered sushi in a street take away. With sushi in his hand, he got on the bus, sat down and started eating. He was hungry so he ate very quickly. He had an hour and a half more to his home, so he fell asleep. After 15 minutes Covid was feeling sick, his head hurt, he could not even move and he had a dry cough.
At home, his mum told him that he couldn't go to school, but do you remember; when I told you that he never listened to his parents? Well that was the problem. He still went to school for the next two weeks and then people started dying from an unknown virus.
Oskar Kovačič Primary School English Magazine 2020/2021 Froggy 20 | 49
After research, a scientist, who was Covid's father, named the virus COVID–19. He did not want to blame his son, so he blamed bats.
Now you know why you are in quarantine and if you want, you can ask me for more information.
Maja Kovačič
During the quarantine my mom usually wakes me up at 9 o'clock. Then I have my breakfast. After I eat my breakfast I brush my teeth. Then I do my homework. At two o'clock I finish with studying. Then I play video games until lunch. We usually have lunch between four and five p.m. Then I watch anime until I go to bed.
In Slovenia life isn't very exciting at this time because currently Slovenia is quarantined. There aren't many people outside. It is online school in Slovenia so children work from home. Adults work from home or they are still going to work like always.

During the week, the day starts at about 7.00 am. We have our breakfast together and we usually eat cereals or bread with salami and cheese. Sometimes my sister Neli has eggs. A lot of Slovenian people have breakfast like this. My mum leaves home at 7.20 am. She goes to work by car. Sometimes she goes to work by train or she rides her bike. The roads are busy because a lot of Slovenians go to work at this time. My sister and I leave the flat at 8 o'clock. We go to school on foot. We get home about 1.00 or 2.00 pm, but mum comes home about 4.00 pm. Slovenian people usually go home
from work at 1.00 pm until evening hours. Then Neli and I do our homework and go to the music school. A lot of students in Slovenia have extracurricular activities (hobbies). We usually go to bed at 9.30 pm. At the weekend we sometimes go on a trip, we watch a good film or we play games. My mum (sometimes my sister and I too) do the housework. We go shopping, too. My mum likes walking our dog, so we often go for long walks. My sister and I often study. This is our normal day.

During the week, the day starts at about 7. I usually do not eat breakfast but my family and other people do. My mom and dad always drink coffee in the morning. But now that I have school online I eat breakfast with all of my family members because usually we do not have enough time for that. My mom leaves the house at 8. Both of my sisters leave at 7:30 and they go to school by bus. My dad usually works late or he has night shifts, it depends. I live 5 minutes away from my school so I walk.
My family always has dinner together because everyone is always at home. We have it at around 6 or 7pm. When I
still had my volleyball practices we did not eat together every day. After our dinner I watch TV or do my homework and the same applies for my sister. My mom, and little sister go to bed at around 10 and me and my other sister go at 11 or 12 pm. At the weekend I had my volleyball matches and my parents came, but not anymore. Sometimes we watch a movie together or go for a walk on Golovec. I hang out with my friends and my dad and mom hang out with their friends but not as often as we used to. We also went to church every Sunday and to the supermarket afterwards.

During the week I usually wake up at about 7:30 and go to school at 8:00 am. The first class starts at 8:20 am. I have four to eight classes every day. When I get home, I play some video games and watch TV. After that I do my homework and sometimes read. Then I watch some more TV and go to sleep. During the weekend I sleep a lot and when I wake up, I play video games, go outside, watch TV, read …
At least that's how it was before the quarantine. Now I'm home all day but still I don't have enough time. I have about three classes every day and when I finish, I start playing video games but that doesn't last long, because my mom comes home and always finds something that I missed. Then in the evening I make plans for the following day, read some more and go to sleep.
Jure Miljević
I usually get up in the morning and have breakfast. Then I go on my computer and do my homework. Then I lie in bed all day. I go to bed around 11 pm.
Daily life in Slovenia at this time isn't very exciting. Students do their school work on computers. Some parents go to work and some are working from home. The whole Slovenia is currently in quarantine. We mostly can't go anywhere and there is a curfew at 9 pm.

Ljubljana is not such a big city, but it's big enough that I can get lost there. There are a lot of tourists in every part of the year, well, not this year because of the Covid, but usually there are. Sometimes there are even too many of them. Maybe somebody will think there are too many shops there, but I like shopping, so I'm good with that. For me, there are not enough art galleries. Well, I never
even go in one, and I didn't even know if there were any in Ljubljana. There aren't any skyscrapers. And there are not enough cinemas either. I mean, I like Ljubljana the way it is, but it could still have more cinemas, because I love watching movies. There are too many shops, there are not enough cinemas...

Ljubljana is the capital city of Slovenia. Because it's a big city, there's too much traffic and that's bad. A lot of visitors from other countries come to Ljubljana because it's a beautiful city and anyway it's not as big as the other big cities. There isn't too much noise except when there are protests. In Ljubljana there are too many shops but there aren't enough hospitals I think.

KRANJSKA GORA
Kranjska Gora is a very interesting place. There are many ways to have fun. There are a lot of outdoor activities you can do. In summer people go hiking. The views of the mountains are amazing. Lake Jasna is full of tourists on the hot summer days. Next to the lake there is a valley full of small rivers. In the clear water you can see stones different sizes and colours. Kids love to
play there. In winter Kranjska Gora turn into a snowy land. People love skiing, snowboarding, sledding and ice skating. If there isn't too much snow people take a trip to the mountains. They stop at the huts along the way to warm up have a cup of tea. If you want to explore Kranjska Gora for several days, you can stay in a hotel.

Distance education is something new for all of us. It took me by surprise. I liked it. It was a new way of studying. I got bored after a while. Sitting in front of a computer all day is hard. I was glad I had my twin brother with me so I didn’t have to study alone.
For most children face-to-face learning is easier than distance education but I found distance learning easier. I was able to decide which subject I wanted to do first and which last. In face-toface learning you have to do what you are told. You have to do homework and sit in the classroom for seven hours. I guess you are able to see your friends more but you can’t really talk. You get a better explanation at school but I am used to studying from books.
I would love to go to school in the morning and do my homework on the computer. I’d like to have distance education when I get ill. I like to know what my classmates are doing when I’m not around, because I don’t like to be left behind.

We were online for quite some time. This year's quarantine was genuinely better because of the organization. Last year teachers would send mail with instructions to our parents and then they would have to send it to us. I think it was just a burden to our parents. In the school year 2020/2021 we ere using Teams. The difference was noticeable. Not only was it well organized, but the teachers were more reachable, so if you had a problem, they replied sooner. Online school with Teams was better, but it was nothing compared to face-to-face school. The only pro I can think of (for online school) was organizing your own time (which usually meant more sleeping). The problem of quarantine is seeing your friends only on Zoom, which is not as fun as seeing them in person. I think face-to-face learning is better, because even if teachers are active on Microsoft Teams it is easier to ask them something in person. The pro is also seeing your friends. Breaks are so much cooler in face-to-face school. But because everything has a con, I woke up very tired this morning. So, in face-to-face school I get to sleep a bit less.
I think Slovenian government isn’t doing a good job. They could present a better system instead of just putting us in school and then back home. Foe instance, I really like the programme C or whatever it is called, so we would be at home one week and in school the other. But as I am writing, I am only a student, so I don’t know everything behind every programme. In general, I think we are doing pretty well in fighting Covid-19 and I hope it stays this way.
Neža Lesjak, 9c
When we first heard that we were going into a lockdown, we were excited. We thought that we were getting a two-week vacation, but what happened in the end was quite the opposite. What started as a two-week quarantine turned into four months of online school. I would say that I stayed in contact with my friends quite a lot. We would go on video chat whenever we could, help each other with school work and sometimes go on socially distanced walks. In my opinion, I think online school was easier than face-to-face, but I know that some of my friends don’t feel the same way. I liked the fact that we could manage our own time and be more independent. But in a different way it just wasn’t the same quality as face-to-face school. I know that all the teachers tried very hard to make online school as good as in person, but I just don’t think it can be achieved. At least in my experience I spent less time on homework and school work in general, which I don’t know if it’s a good or a bad thing. Overall, I wouldn’t say it was a horrible experience, there were some good times, but I wouldn’t do it again in a million years. However, I think it has offered us a new view on the internet. I hope that in the future we will work more with our phones and computers. We could do research or even solve quizzes on them.
Ira Verbinc, 9a
So, in Slovenia the first lockdown started on March 15th 2020. Everything stopped, as well as schools. We started online school. At first it was difficult because we didn’t know what to expect, but then it was getting better. I missed my friends and I also missed how my teachers explained some things to me. We were on our own and it was hard to understand a lot of the programme. Then in September 2020 we were in school till the end of October and the government said we were again starting online school. We were at home for four months and we didn’t get a lot of grades, just a few. And I was working hard, but not everyone did. When we came back to school, they had big problems. I would say the good side of online school is that you can pan your day out how you want it and that you can wake up a little bit later. But the bad side is that you miss teachers’ explanations. In three days we’re starting online school again and I’m not looking forward to it.
Tea Kerpan, 9a
The overall experience of a distant education has been quite good. All the teachers worked hard to make things as easy as possible for us. But because we are home alone while doing all the school work, it is sometimes hard to concentrate and it leads to certain things taking us more time to finish. I found learning from school very interesting, because I had never thought something like that would happen to us.
It is not hard to compare classroom and distance education. They are very different and of course both of them have advantages and disadvantages. For me, the best thing about distance education is less stress. We ca schedule our day how we please and usually we don’t have a strict time limit, we just have to have it done at the end of the day. In normal school, it is of course very different. But at home, we don’t have that excitement to learn. At school, most things are presented better and that’s how it triggers our interest. We also remember things better while in the classroom, because at home we are usually very bored and just want to get things done as quickly as possible. The most relevant for me is company. At home I sometimes feel lonely because I’m alone in my room. In the classroom, it is obviously very different and you can almost never get bored.
I think that distance education is a very good option in cases like COVID-19 lockdown. It makes it possible for us to still learn and not just pause our lives until the virus is gone. But in the normal circumstances, I think I prefer learning in the classroom. It is much more fun and exciting. In the future, I think that distance education could be very useful. I wouldn’t mind learning from home again.

I would say that my experience of learning during the COVID-19 lockdown was pretty rough, since I struggled with motivating myself to work and attend my meetings. I was constantly behind with my work, which led to me being stressed all the time. The only thing I liked about online school was the fact that I could sleep till the last minute before class and maybe listen to music during classes even though it wasn’t allowed. What I really hated was that my room became my working space and was no longer a room in which I could relax and not think about school.
I think in the future online school will still play a pretty big role in the Slovenian education and it will become normal to use Teams for example in our everyday lives.
Eva Turković, 9a
During the first wave it was awful. It might have been the worst time of my life. I was worried, I didn’t socialize (I mean because I couldn’t). And a big part of the problem was distance learning. I lost the will, so I was doing less and less school work. But that resulted in even more worries. When we went back to school, I was so happy and eventually saw that I wasn’t the only one that didn’t work and was unhappy. After the holidays (still in school live) I felt really bad and was even kind of happy to go back home. This time it was better, because there were videoconferences. But eventually my will started to vanish (I mean, not that it was not expected). So, I was really happy to go back live, but now we are going back home… Ugh!
Anyway, I strongly prefer in person educating. I mean, we have schools (the buildings) for a reason, right? Even in college many people don’t have the level of self-control to work like we were meant to. What about primary school then? Also, one big thing I would like to mention: having a camera turned on during meetings is really annoying, because you never know if someone is looking at you. I would definitely recommend using the Pomodoro technique. Otherwise, I just hope this will never repeat itself again.
Brin Lengar, 9c
We all realized something when we were at home. Everyone needs friends, even though some people don’t think they do. I think that being alone or maybe not alone, just lonely, was the biggest disadvantage. As well aa not having teachers explain some new things you might be interested in. For me, I know that being just with my family, even though I love them, sometimes felt lonely. Another thing that was hard for me was organizing and motivating myself to do school work. It was really overwhelming at times, but after you figured out what works for you, you managed to pull yourself together and do some work. I’m not really a planned person who knows what or how they will do or spend the next week. I think if I knew how much easier it would be to plan some things, I would do it the same second. So, looking back, I think planning things or events in you day really helped you stay sane.
After a few weeks, things started piling up and everything seemed like a mess. I think that as a person, I really grew these few months, because you were responsible for everything that you did. I think it was really important for the teachers to see how much we were able to learn by ourselves. There were many advantages, even though they weren’t that obvious. You could sleep longer, eat whenever you were hungry and, of course, you were at home, which I think is a very comfortable place for everyone. Because of that comfort it was easier to relax and concentrate on school work I think it also took me a lot less time to do exercises and other school work teachers gave us than in school.
So, I think in the future school could shorten the actual time you spend in school, because you could do things faster in silence and in your comfort zone at home. But as many people say, we have to step out of our comfort zone and do some things that aren’t expected from us, so I think face-to-face school teaches us so much more for real life, than just learning facts. And I think there’s a very thin line between the main thing you learn in school and out of school, because I think school is more about learning how to be a part of society and how to communicate with people outside your family.
Sara Globokar, 9a
This year was much more different from a normal school year and for students and teachers, this was a whole new experience. I actually enjoyed this way of learning. I’m the kind of person who loves doing things on their own and this new situation put all of us in the position where you can be completely on your own. This new kind of learning also takes a lot of concentration and you really need to be focused
on your work because at home there are tones of distractions and it’s pretty hard to stay focused at this point.
So, as I already mentioned, I prefer online school but face-to-face school still has its advantages, you can hang out with your friends and there are teachers who can explain things you don’t completely understand.
I think the perfect combination would be something in between, so I think it would be best if we went to school for one week and then another week we were in online school. The perfect combination.
April Kotnik, 9c
Hello everyone!
As you know, we’ve been in quarantine for months now. In my opinion it was great at first because everyone was excited about working from home, but now after a few months, it is so boring. I’m in school at the moment and I’m having fun with my friends. But it is a little bit strange because I’m actually sitting in a real classroom full of school mates, instead of in my empty room. Even though online school was boring I can say that getting marks was so much easier than in school, and I was able to eat anytime I wanted. I also watched Netflix and TV more, because I was always at home. But here in school I can talk to my friends during breaks and if I don’t understand something, it’s easier for the teachers to explain it to me. I think that if we had been in school all this time we were in quarantine, we would have actually learnt more than we did online. I liked online school, but I prefer being in real school. It’s harder, but it’s more fun.
Anja Oven, 9d
My learning experience during the COVID-19 lockdown is interesting. My marks improved and I studied a lot better because I had more time. In my opinion the advantages were that you had more time, you didn’t have to wake up at 6 am and be in a hurry or be late. You could organize your time and working on the computer is way more interesting. I’ve learnt a lot of new things. The disadvantages are that aren’t in the classroom and you don’t have your school mates there and the teacher isn’t there. It was harder to understand the classes if you didn’t listen to the teacher explaining it. I think it would be hard to combine both ways of learning and in the future, they will have to decide what education would be like. Thanks to technology and computers we will be able to adapt and I think it is good for children to learn how to work with computers. Social distancing is a problem with this type of education, but it’s about saving human lives and I think we must all remember that.
Silvija Rojc, 9a
I think that the lockdown affected a lot of people’s lives and learning abilities. I’d say that I personally struggled with learning and always being up to date with my assignments. I was mostly lazier since there wasn’t anyone really pushing me as much since they were only on my screen and I didn’t come face-to-face with them. I also became pretty inactive since I was sitting for most of my day. The only exercises I did were online trainings which I had three times a week, and also during the weekends I went running in the morning. But that still wasn’t enough. With every bad thing of course comes good. I could choose when and what I wanted for breakfast. I was always at the joy of my home and my room. I was also able to wake up right as the class started. But over-all I learnt much less during the lockdown. I generally prefer being in school surrounded by friends and teachers. I feel much better when I’m social and now I also have a chance to train five times a week and talk to my friends in person. I think for the future we shouldn’t do more online classes since you just have more work, learn and socialize less and also feel more stressed out and lonely.

ABOUT ME
I am an eight-grade student. I'm 13 years old and my birthday is on 30th April. I am quite tall, and I have brown-green eyes and straight dark brown hair. I really like to wear nice clothes and sometimes I look like an adult person with my favourite clothes on, but let's talk about this later.
MY HOBBIES
I love volleyball, we practice three times a week, and we have competitions on at the weekend. I also like swimming and I have swimming practices once a week, but my coach told me that I'm a very good swimmer and that I need to start going to competitions but I really don't have much time, because of volleyball and school work.
I also like painting and drawing. I use watercolours, crayons and colour pencils. I want to try painting with oil paint too, but I haven't bought them yet. And I really like to read books, and I think that I will soon write my own book.
MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS
I have two younger brothers: Tevž who is 4 years old and Lovro, he is 11 years old. They both annoy me sometimes, but they are still great brothers.
I have two very best friends Anja and Naila. They are both very funny and we always stick together. We laugh, smile and cry together. We even planed our future together. They are the best people in the whole world.
SCHOOL
I go to Oskar Kovačič Primary School. My schoolmates are very friendly and we're a great class. They ask me for help many times and I am always ready to help them.
I think that I'm very clever and I have the best marks in every subject. I will attend many school competitions - history, maths, biology and Slovenian competitions. I don't study much because I can remember almost
everything at school. But if I study, I only study for about one day and it doesn't take me a lot of time to remember something and I think I'm very lucky because of it. My brother tells me many times that I'm a "study nerd", and I'm quite proud of it.
MY FAVOURITES Movies
My favorite movie is Titanic. It's great!
BEST SUMMER MEMORY
For one of the best memories of mine I will mention those two days that I spent with Anja, Naila and my two friends, twins Ajda and Brina. It was summer 2020, and I think it was July. First we decided to go for a walk on Golovec, to the restaurant Orle. We didn't go alone, there was my brother Lovro and his best friend Arne, who is also Naila's brother, too. We were talking and laughing on the way there. In the restaurant at first we ordered a pancake for each of us, except Lovro who ordered blueberry strudels. But then someone, I can't remember who, said that only pancakes aren't enough. We ordered one pizza at first, and when we ate it, we ordered another one. I think the waitress was a bit impatient because of it. When everyone was pleased, we paid for those two pizzas and those six pancakes and blueberry strudels. And because of all this food that we ate the path downhill was very slow. When we finally came back to my house, my mom asked us why it took so long for us to eat one pancake and we just smiled for the answer. When we were chatting in my room, we decided that the four girls and Arne will sleep at our place. Their parents brought them some clothes and their toothbrushes. The weather that day was very hot so we jumped to the pool in our garden. The seven of us were having a lot of fun, we played a game called "slepe miši" and a lot of other funny games. We stayed in the pool till dark when we started to shake because of the cold. Then we went to shower and washed our hair and brushed our teeth. We spent the rest of the night in my room giggling, laughing and eating crisps. We went to bed at about one o'clock in the morning. When we woke up the next day, we ate our breakfast, put our swimsuits on and jumped into the pool again. When we came out of the pool for a break we were playing poker and eating watermelon and cheesecake that I baked a day before. At about five o'clock in the afternoon, the girls and Arne went home, and the fun was over, but the best memory stayed.

SHORT STORIES
I was in the fifth grade. It was a sunny morning. I was going to school on a skateboard when I almost ran over something. l got closer to see what it was. It was a bird but it didn't move when I got close. And it didn't mind when I tried to pet it. I took it home and gave it some food and water. After a few minutes it started moving and jumping around. I opened the window and it flew away. Jure

One day I was bored so I called Aldin. He said that we could play basketball on the basketball
court behind the school. Then we went there. We were playing basketball. We were having a lot of fun. The weather was perfect and I was winning because Aldin sucks at basketball. Then someone came to me. He was acting very strange. At first, I didn't trust him but then he said that he lost his kid, so I decided to help him. Aldin went searching for the kid and I was with him. We couldn't find that kid. It seemed impossible. Then we went on the parking. The kid wasn't there but there was a white van. A big guy came out of the van and took me into the van. The other guy who said that he had lost his kid, got into the van too and we drove away. They took me to an empty house in the forest. Aldin called the cops and they were searching for me. After one hour they finally had a clue. They saw traces on the street. They followed them and saved me. Then I woke up.

One day me and my friend Nejc went on Golovec, to ride down some trails. It was in 2017 when the bana/road gap trail was invented. We went ahead and rode it.
Nejc went first. We were riding and chilling when we came to road gap. Than Nejc fell! I was screaming for help for 2 hours because I forgot my phone at home. Then suddenly a grandma came. We moved his bike off the trail and then we bowed his leg with my shirt. It was an awful day. After we did all that, the grandma called his dad. His dad came with his pickup truck and drove us home. After we came to their house we called an ambulance because his leg was bloody as hell.
The ambulance came and he had to get a surgery for his leg. It all went pretty well. After a long night of waiting we finally got home, and we went to Nejc's room to play some video games like Fivem, GTA 5, Call of Duty...

One day last winter I was in the park. I was with my friend Jan. We were sitting on the bench and we were doing homework, when my friend Tina came.
She asked me if I wanted to go on a trip to Venice with her and her family. I agreed and in the winter holidays we went there. We were on the boat when it began to sink! We didn't know why. We were
far from the coast. I phoned Jan because his dad was a fisherman and he could help us. But the boat was sinking very fast so we had to leave the boat. We were swimming, when suddenly a sailing boat came by and helped us. Tina, her family and I took a break from this horrible experience and thanked the people who saved us.
In the end we met Jan in the centre of Venice. He was waiting for us and then we went for an ice cream and we told him the whole story.

One day last summer, I think it was June, my best friends Anja and Naila and I went to Ljubljana centre to hang out and get some ice cream. We were waiting in the line for the ice cream, when the story began.
We suddenly realized we forgot our money and mobile phones at home. We had a really big problem; we couldn't pay for our ice cream, and we couldn´t call my mom to bring us the money. We decided to ask someone to give us their phone, so that we could call my mom. We asked a girl who was standing in the line in front of us. She said she didn't have her phone with her, and then we asked a woman behind us. She gave us her phone, and we called my mom. But she said that she couldn't come for us because she was shopping.
We gave the phone back to the woman and we were walking out of the ice cream store, when a man who was selling ice cream came to us and said that we could get the ice cream for free. He gave each of us a double doze portion of ice cream and we promised him we would
come back the next day. We were very happy. We walked home and had a great sleepover party. That ice cream seller made our day. And I think that it is great to have people like him in this world.

Horrid Henry meets the
Queen is a very interesting book. I like it because it’s funny and it has a lot of new words. The book has four stories. Most of you probably know that these books got their own cartoons. However, books are better than cartoons. In the stories the main character Henry usually runs into trouble but in the end, there is usually a twist. Sometimes Henry gets what he wants, but not very often. He also always has very good ideas and he makes all of them come true. Well, kind of. But anyway, I think this book is very good. And this is my opinion about it.

Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone
is the first book of the Harry Potter book series, written by J.K Rowling. The book is about a young boy named Harry Potter, who is a wizard and whose parents got killed by a very evil wizard called Lord Voldemort. That is also the reason Harry is known in the wizarding world as the boy who lived. In the first part we see how Harry finds out, that he is a wizard and faces Voldemort with his friend in the wizarding school Hogwarts. There are seven books in the series, but they are all great, there is a lot of reading, but it is wort it. There are also films made after the books.

The funny life of teachers
is not an ordinary book. The chapters are all messed up and there is no story. It's fairly childish but that's a part of the fun. It's also good for learning English. It's quite short and good if you want to have a quick laugh, because you can just open it, read a couple of pages, close it and go do something else.
The funny life of teachers. This is the most chaotic book I’ve ever read. It’s chaotic because you’re not supposed to read from 1-200, but 1, 12, 38, 199, 120, 4… The book is funny because it’s like a 7year-old wrote it. It’s full of jokes about school, teachers, and students and makes fun of stereotypes about school. I really can’t say much else about it, so here are a few examples of jokes in this book: Teachers sleep in schools. Secondary school teachers are more likely to be afraid of sharks than primary school teachers.
Excuse for being late: the dog ate my homework, I forgot where school was, Vikings invaded, Dinner ladies actually run the school. You are not late, everyone is just early.
While I was looking through the book I realized that there are more true things in it than those that are made up. The best job a teacher can get is playground duty. This is just yelling at kids that are having too much fun. P. E. teachers actually never do anything, they just walk around and shout what you need to do.
The Witches
I like this book because the story is remarkably interesting. The main characters, Luke and his grandmother are both brave. I like the way they solve problems and how they still love each other even after Luke's transition to mouse. The author makes everything so realistic, and makes you believe that everything could really happen. And I mostly like the end, their plan to travel all over the world to destroy witches. I recommend it to everyone because it is nice, funny, and interesting.

I think this book is interesting. It’s really good for someone who’s learning English. It’s easy to learn from it because a lot of words are written in bold letters and there are a lot of pictures. It’s also quite funny. It has a weird sense of humor that fits in quite nicely with the theme of the book. You would expect a book like this would use relatively primitive English, but it doesn’t. I would recommend this book to someone who doesn’t speak English very well.

Bakhita is one of the most amazing books I've ever read. It talks about a little girl in Africa. The little girl lives in a small village and one night she gets kidnapped. She gets caught in the neverending cycle of slavery. The book made me think about how lucky we are to live in this time and this place. The book is very interesting and emotional. At one moment you are jumping because you're so happy the next moment you're crying. I would totally recommend it!

Beatrice was born and raised by Abnegations, so will she stay here? Or maybe she will choose another faction? The test definitely does not facilitate her decision. At the annual Choosing Ceremony, where the teens use their test results to pick the faction they want to join, things take another unexpected turn. Beatrice's brother Caleb chooses Erudites.
Beatrice dares to join the brave Dauntless after all. Even though that means she can never see her family again. She renames herself Tris and during the highly competitive initiation that follows, she finds time to fall in love with her instructor Four. But the pressure is on because those who don't make the grade in initiation will be banished to wander the streets as a "factionless caste". Meanwhile, the Erudite faction's leader

is trying to overthrow the Abnegation government and determined to destroy anybody who opposes her. Tris must decide which of her choices bring the greater good for those she loves. Even if it means the end of her.

Face off is an action played by John Travolta and Nicholas Cage.
This is a story about a criminal and a detective. The plot is very interesting – a detective and a criminal switched their faces and their lives. The movie has a lot of action and a lot of scenes are very dangerous
The main characters are very good and brave Their fight makes the movie even more interesting.
The end of the movie is pretty unexpected.

Vesna is a very old Slovenian movie. It is older than my parents. They think it is a lovely movie. I like it too, because it was very interesting. Three brothers Sandi, Samo and Krištof want to get questions for their Maths final exam and they decide to become friends with the professor's daughter. They don't know her name and they call her Vesna. They think she is another girl that is not so pretty. But when Samo meets the real daughter, she is very pretty and they fall in love. Her real name is Janja. When Janja finds out why Samo wanted to meet her, she is unhappy but in the end she forgives him.

Home alone –lost in New York.
Over the holidays we watched a lot of films and it's hard to choose one. I liked the most Home alone - lost in New York. We watch it nearly every year. It's talking about Kevin who went to the wrong plane and he came to New York. There he meets two cracks that he met before. It's really funny and interesting. I recommend it.

True Beauty
During the holidays I watched a Korean drama True beauty. The series is about a girl who goes to high school. She isn't very popular and is also bullied for her appearance. Because she really wants to 'fit in' she moves to another school and learns how to do make-up. At the other school she is one of the most popular girls and also helps others with their problems. Even though she changed a lot she still stays the same person as she was and is kind to everyone. I like this series because it presents a lot of problems people have to go through at this age. And it also shows that there are so many standards we have to follow to 'be pretty'.

I also watched True beauty. It's about a girl with an ''ugly'' face and she is hiding it with makeup. She changes her school and there she meets new friends. No one on at her new school knows about her secret. She actually gets popular because of her appearance. She never changed just because of her looks (with make-up) but she just wanted to be pretty and accepted. I really liked this series, because it shows how are people who “don't fit in today's beauty standards” are really treated. We should all be accepted as we are

because everyone is pretty in their own way and no one should set the standards.

What happened to Monday or Seven sisters
is a 2017 science fiction action film. It's one of the best movies I have ever seen. It shows a world where each family is allowed to only have one child due to over-population. The movie is set in the year 2073. But Terrace Settman has 7 granddaughters that are all identical so he names them as the days of the week and raises them to be the same person; Karen Settman on their day. But one day one of them fails to return home and the government attacks their house. Next thing that happens is a search for their sister during which they find out many things about each other. I really enjoyed the movie so I really recommend it!

The choice is an American drama film and one of my favourites. It was filmed at the suggestion of the author Nicholas Sparks. His book is also very interesting. The movie stars are Benjamin Walker and Teresa Palmer. The film is about two neighbours, Travis and Gabby who fall in love at their first meeting. Then one evening Gabby had a car accident. She fell into a coma and she couldn't breathe on her own. After a few months, doctors gave up and Travis had to make the biggest decision of his life. To fight or give up. He decided to wait a little longer. Then Gabby woke up from a coma. The ending depicts a happy family one awesome American archipelago.
