InternationalPetRelocationtoDubai: RequirementsandRegulations
Dubai is a popular destination for expatriates and their pets, but relocating a pet internationally can be a complex and daunting process. This article will guide you through the requirements and regulations for international pet relocation to Dubai
1. Vaccinations and Health Certificates
Before you start the process of relocating your pet to Dubai, you must ensure that your pet has received all the required vaccinations. The required vaccinations include rabies, distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, and parvovirus. You will also need to obtain a health certificate from your veterinarian stating that your pet is in good health and fit to travel.

2. Microchip and Identification
All pets that are imported to Dubai must be microchipped for identification purposes. The microchip should be ISO compliant, and the number must be recorded on the health certificate. Additionally, pets must wear a collar with an identification tag at all times.
3. Import Permit
To import your pet to Dubai, you will need to obtain an import permit from the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment. You can apply for the permit online or through an agent. You will need to provide the following documents:
• A copy of your passport
• A copy of your pet's vaccination record and health certificate
• A copy of your pet's microchip certificate
• A copy of your flight itinerary
4. Quarantine
Upon arrival in Dubai, your pet will be subject to quarantine for a period of 10 days. During this time, your pet will be housed in a government-approved facility. You will need to provide a copy of the import permit and other documents to the quarantine facility.
5. Pet Transport
When transporting your pet to Dubai, you have two options: air cargo or accompanied baggage. Air cargo is the most common method for transporting pets, especially for larger breeds. However, if your pet is small enough to fit under the seat in the cabin, you can transport your pet as accompanied baggage.
6. Breed Restrictions
Dubai has restrictions on certain dog breeds, including Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, Doberman Pinschers, and any mix of these breeds. If you have one of these breeds, you will need to obtain special permission from the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment to import your pet.
