Creating lasting relationships with customers is crucial for success. One connection that might be lacking is the one between a new customer and service directors. A survey by Fixed Ops Journal found that 63% of customers were not introduced to a representative from the dealership service department the last time they bought a new vehicle. Although, when asked, 49% of mass-market and luxury customers thought that it is somewhat or very important to meet someone from the service department.
Making an effort to have a service director or manager meet new customers could increase customer loyalty and fixed ops sales. By forming that connection with your service team right away, customers will consider returning to your service department and, later on, your sales team when they are looking to purchase their next new car.
