This Arthur Hills masterpiece takes its lead from the dramatic courses that hug Ireland’s North Atlantic coastline, delivering unforgettable holes that wind along 50-foot bluffs and overlook Lake Michigan’s array of blue and turquoise hues. The course combination marries the Links’ windblown dunes with the Quarry’s rustic landscapes and offers rewarding well-planned tee shots and approaches that hit their spots.

The Preserve certainly lives up to its name, as it is a haven for wildlife and golfers alike. Stately hardwoods tower over lush grasses, wildflowers, and wetlands with a dramatic par-3 course finish. From forest to shoreline, this course combination showcases the Preserve’s natural beauty, and the Links’ towering bluffs and exquisite Lake Michigan views.

Already on the short list of the world’s most unique, The Quarry winds its way around and through an immense shale quarry, complete with a 40-foot gorge, stone cliffs, natural ponds and a gentle waterfall. The combination of the Quarry and Preserve courses challenges golfers with natural terrains and dramatic views.

Championship golf and champion golfers have long been intertwined with the mystique of Belvedere Golf Club. Established in 1925, Belvedere has played host to more Michigan Amateur Championships than any course in the state – 40 total. Ranked the #1 classic course (pre-1960) you can play in Michigan by GolfWeek, Belvedere Golf Club provides all golfers a fair and memorable golfing experience.

E The Highlands - Arthur Hills

An Arthur Hills signature course, you’ll notice classic Arthur Hills design features such as wide fairway landing areas, large bunker areas, and narrowing approaches with fascinating green complexes. The 11th hole begins a three-hole ascent to one of the highest points in lower Michigan and a magnificent view from the 13th tee. It’s become a must-play course for its brilliant design and pristine course conditions.

F The Highlands - Donald Ross Memorial

One of the more unique courses in the state, the Donald Ross Memorial course is a compilation of classic golf holes originally designed by Donald Ross and recreated at The Highlands, embodying the look, play and feel of a pure Donald Ross design. A round of golf here hosts the history and heritage of 3 Ryder Cups, 8 U.S. Amateurs, 11 PGA Championships, and 15 U.S. Opens.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. in 1966 and awarded the 2019 National Golf Course of the Year by the Nation Golf Course Owners Association, The Heather’s challenge is considered to be one of the finest championship courses in the nation. Many prestigious events have chosen to make The Heather their host site headlined by some of the finest names in the game. Consider traversing the course in a whole new way on a Golfboard.

H The Highlands - The Moor

The Moor is a favorite of anyone that enjoys a classically designed course, representing a fair but true test of game. With numerous twists and turns, the front nine of The Moor favors right-handed power fade hitters - with holes 1, 2, 7 and 9 showing their curves immediately off the tee. The Moor is one of BOYNE’s most versatile, perfect for 9 or 18 holes. Consider traversing the course in a whole new way on a Golfboard.

I Boyne Mountain Resort - The Alpine

With its spectacular mountainside setting and panoramic views of Deer Lake, The Alpine’s setting is every bit as breathtaking as its legendary design. Each year, the course plays host to Michigan’s Tournament of Champions and once you’ve played the course, you’ll understand why. From the opening tee shot at the peak of Boyne Mountain, to the challenging finish that may be one of the best in Northern Michigan.

J Boyne Mountain Resort - The Monument

Chestnut Valley Golf Course, built by architect Larry Mancour, is a beautiful championship 18-hole course winding through trees and gorgeous log cabin homes. With four sets of tee boxes, this 4-star rated course provides a great experience for golfers of all skill levels. Chestnut Valley offers one of the best golf experiences in Northern Michigan at reasonable rates.

The course is perched on bluffs high above Bay Harbor and overlooks the deep blues of Lake Michigan. The course is characterized by undulating greens that require careful, consistent putts for par.

Located 15 miles north of Petoskey you’ll find Hidden River Golf & Casting Club on the Maple River. Many players consider this course to be “Northern Michigan Golf Defined” with its immaculate fairways and greens through the pines and hardwoods. Designed by Bruce Matthews III, it has been named among the “Best Courses You Can Play” by GolfWeek since 2013.
