“Who is she?”
I’ve been described by the Metro newspaper as “ everyone ’ s favourite pantomime dame,” and who am I to disagree? This year is my 19th year in Panto Land and my 6th sharing stories about being who you want and loving who you are. Over the years I’ve shared stages with some incredible performers (yes, I have an anecdote about B*witched!) and have performed on some incredible stages, including as a semi-finalist on Britain’s Got Talent. I have recently come back from performing my storytelling panto The Magic Bookmark in New York and later this year will be sharing stories at the Hay Festival and Edinburgh International Book Festival I’m proud to work with many publishers to promote their inclusive books, and in October will be having my first picture book published, thanks to Graffeg (but sssssh, that’s a secret for now!) “What is it?”
Story Time with Mama G has been visiting libraries, schools, theatres, museums, festivals and even care homes around the UK for the last six years. It is a 45 minute performance with original stories, original songs, already published picture books and lots of joining in; that shares a positive and uplifting message with audience members of all ages Books that may feature include You Need to Chill by Juno Dawson, Rainbowsaurus by Steve Antony, and Bathe the Cat by Alice B McGinty My original stories include tales of bunnies who can’t hop, unicorns discovering their true selves, and a stick man having an identity crisis. Isn’t the imagination a wonderful thing? The sessions are suitable for children aged 4+, and can definitely be enjoyed by their grown-ups too! Each performance is followed by the opportunity to take a picture with me and buy some of my self-published books.

“How does it happen?”
I can do up to three performances (at three different libraries) for the same library service on the same day. I would arrive at the first library between 90-60 minutes before the performance to get ready. At each library I would need a private space to change and leave my belongings. For the performance I would need a big enough space to move around in a bigger dress than most other storytellers would wear! As well as a waist height table and access to a plug socket At each library it would be great to have a parking space, or inside knowledge on where to park!
