Military veterans and their families have several options when it comes time to further their education. There are several programs in America that are speci cally designed to further the quality of life for veterans and their families through a good education. G.I. Bill In 1944, The Servicemen’s Readjustment Act was signed into law by Franklin D. Roosevelt to support the returning members of the military after World War II. These returning soldiers were known as ground infantry or G.I.s. The resulting bill was called the G.I. Bill because it catered to this demographic. Since then, the program has expanded to include education grants and stipends for active-duty service members and veterans, as well as for their families. Things that are covered under this Bill include college tuition, graduate schools, and training programs,Â
