Most people enjoy music. Whether you can’t get enough rock concerts, play an instrument, or even just love jamming out in your car on the morning commute, music plays a huge role in all of our lives. What is its significance in the broader culture? Music has the potential to tell a deep, sincere story and share groundbreaking ideas. Obviously that isn’t always the case, but music influences our moods, emotions, actions, and more. If you listen to music from any decade, you will get a reflection of the cultural zeitgeist at the time. Music affects us in a way almost nothing else can. As individuals, we express ourselves through music, but music can also help us create social bonds with other people.
