P E T-X i T R A I N I N G Funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) in partnership with Skills T raining UK to enable young people age 15-16 (Year 10 & 11) to access support. The project is designed to: • Enable young people to access early interventions supporting them to stay in education, employment or training • Help young people between different educational stages and their career paths for example higher or further education, employment or training • To support young people who are NEET or have a clear risk of becoming NEET identified
Face to Face and/or Remote PET-Xi have worked to deliver highly engaging remote learning programmes and we have succeeded in achieving high levels of engagement and progress for the learners involved. Remote learning with PET-Xi is not broadcast videos and self-directed study, instead it is truly interactive Live teaching and learning and interaction with PET-Xi staff. PET-Xi will also be able to deliver all programmes directly and face to face with appropriate PPE and social distancing. “The students have really gained a lot of experience and knowledge by completing your courses. There are five major aspects of the provision: • Engagement discussions with learners (and parents and staff) to encourage participation. This will take the form of a one-to-one meeting with our project team leader at the school once the learners have been selected • Individual learning plans and ESF paperwork completed by the PET-Xi team leader and IAG • Accredited Level 2 vocational outcomes - although this doesn’t count to Progress 8, it is an invaluable qualification that will not only boost confidence but is a great asset for future employability • Non-accredited achievement to support outcomes in Maths and English - PET-Xi Topic Focus days • Progression - we have targets for remaining in education, not becoming NEET and progression into sustainable further education, training or employment Non-Accredited Element
Maths and English Topic Focus days Designed to support outcomes in Maths and English. Topic Focus days are intensive, immersive, revision days with high staffing ratios and amazing classroom resources. Choose any combination of Maths and English options to be taken over five days. Accredited Element: Learners will gain a portfolio-based Level 2 in one or more of the below options; • Customer Services Level 2 • IT User Skills Level 2 • Personal Development and Employability Level 2 • Health and Social Care Level 2 • Team Leading level 2
Accredited Level 2 Courses
IT User Skills Level 2 IT User Skills is delivered over 5 days, this programme will help develop expertise and competence in IT and to apply knowledge, understanding and skills to a level recognised by the relevant National Occupational Standards (NOS) published by e-skills UK. On successful completion of the programme you will be awarded a Level 2 qualification in IT User Skills, accredited by NCFE. Students will learn: • Microsoft PowerPoint - presentation skills • Microsoft excel - spreadsheet budgeting • Microsoft Word - developing your cv and cover letter
Customer Services Level 2 Customer services programme is delivered over 4 days. This course is suitable for individuals who are aiming to use Customer Service within their job role and need to develop their skills further. Whether your goal is to build a more positive face to face customer experience or enhance satisfaction. Students will learn: • How to create a professional first impression • To manage and develop customer relationships • How customer service impacts on the success of the organisation • Techniques on how to respond to complaints and problems • Audience appropriate communication • Legislation used in customer service
Personal Development for Employability Level 2 This qualification is delivered over 5 days. The main object I to prepare learners for employment. Students will learn: • Health and safety in the workplace • How to build working relationships • Interview techniques • How to prepare for an interview • How to job search • Support completing application forms
Health and Social Care Level 2 Health and social care is delivered over 10 days. The objective of this qualification is to prepare learners to progress to a qualification in the same subject area but at a higher level or requiring more specific knowledge, skills and understanding. It is aimed at those working or preparing to work in adult social care and aims to introduce knowledge only around areas relating to adult social care Students will learn: • Communication • Equality, diversity and inclusion • Personal development • Role of the social care worker • Handling information • Health and safety • Safeguarding • Duty of care • Person centred approaches
Team Leading Level 2 Team leading is delivered of 5 days. This qualification is aimed at individuals working within a team leading role or aspiring to be a team leader in a variety of workplace settings and sectors. Team leading will help to develop leadership responsibilities, as well as manage and provide direction to a team. Students will learn: • How to develop working relationships • To understand the importance of information exchange and feedback • How to identify work related difficulties and find possible solutions • Leadership styles • How to motivate, support and encourage a team • Principles of resource management • How to monitor and undertake development effectively • How to lead team members to achieve team objectives • Planning and allocating work • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of team members “PET-Xi was recommended, and they advised that Georgia was able to study remotely and obtain a number of q ualifications whilst attending online courses. Hesitant and nervous at first, Georgia joined and obtained a level 2 in Customer Service and her confidence grew. The online tutors were engaging and encouraged her every step of the way.
