PET-Xi works with a variety of different supported accommodation providers in Sheffield to help its residents improve their employability. Kendall Clark, contract manager at PET-Xi, visited Seth in his supported accommodation to initially provide one-to-one mentoring to boost his confidence and his motivation to find a better job. Seth was exhausted working zero contract in roles with limited prospects and was eager to find his place in a role offering further opportunities and progression. When Seth had explored the local labour market and gained the confidence he needed, Kendall recommended he try a range of Level 2 vocational courses with PET-Xi to upskill and improve his CV. offices. Seth was enrolled onto Level 2 IT User Skills, Team Leading, and Customer Services which he took across a 20-day period as part of his wider learning plan completing one-to-one keyworker sessions with Kendall to develop skills for sustained employment. He passed the courses very quickly and naturally assisted his peers, his talent was noticed by Kendall, who felt he could become a support trainer himself at PET-Xi. Kendall said: “Seth passed his courses in no time at all, and it was clear he just needed a bit of motivation to get himself out of his current situation, because he was clearly an intelligent trainee.
