P E T-X i C A S E S T U DY Hannah Clee, aged 20, has worked on and off as a cleaner from the age of 16, and wanted to earn more qualifications to increase her chances of landing a job in administration. While looking for courses in October 2020 when she was on Universal Credit, she came across PET-Xi online, and decided to give the firm a try after seeing it had been recommended by many previous trainees. She enrolled onto PET-Xi’s Level 2 IT User Skills (ITQ) programme to give her the skills she needed to impress employers and to fill out her CV.

Support provided by PET-Xi Hannah started the five-day course in November 2020, which focused on basic IT skills such as proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and common video communications software, as well as a focus on self-confidence too. The course was done remotely through PET-Xi’s virtual learning environment, which replicates a classroom setting online, allowing easy interaction between trainers and trainees. Hannah was able to pass the course, and impressed her trainers with her enthusiasm. Ellie Wickett, Hannah’s mentor on the programme, said: “Hannah’s tutors told me she was such a lovely person to teach, and that it was clear while they were giving the classes that she was eager to learn. “She was always inquisitive and made sure to ask questions when she needed something clarifying, which not every trainee necessarily does. “As a result, she passed the course easily, and she’s now in a strong position to land a job in administration when she chooses to apply. We at PET-Xi wish her all the best for her future.”
