(Re)discovering Anderson Introduction

The first idea of this project is bringing tourism and an influx of people into Anderson, SC. My personal goal was to increase the number of visitors by creating a tram station, as well as incorporating a heavy rail system that goes to Atlanta and Charlotte. I built a hotel with a rooftop bar, al fresco dining areas, train station, and retail shops in order to bring liveliness to the community.

Purification of the Urban Greenscape

Spring 2022- 3rd year

When I was abroad in Barcelona, Spain our project assignment was to design an archive for the public Museums of Barcelona City. We each were paired with an architecture student from Clemson or the two partnering universities in order to create a collective storage space. Ultimately, I wanted to create green porches on every level with ivy, fig, bourganvillea, and magnolia trees to help lessen the air pollution in the city. In the interior of the building, there is a large planter of hanging ivy that circulates the air in the building. Air enters the rooftop through moveable louvers, plants on terraces/ roof cool the building by providing shade, and air exits the museum through operable window at the top of the central ivy display.

Black River Blueway Introduction

The first goal of this project is bringing recreation and ecotourism to the community in historic Williamsburg and Georgetown counties.

Once this is complete, the second objective is incorporating Hinds Canada and RMS South, Mead, and Rocky Point sites and amenities into the Black River Water Trail and Park Network.

Visitor’s Center Enlargement

Fall 2021- 3rd Year

Rocky Point is a parcel of land located between Georgetown and Kingstree that is currently used for boating, picnics, and gathering. The intent here was to design a community that promotes gathering within nature and utilizes the existing environment to increase the activity of the tract. The design will hopefully stimulate people of all ages and backgrounds coming together to enjoy a shared space.

Jonesborough Introduction

The courtyard at Jonesborough Elementary is one of the primary sites for this project. The overarching concept is sowing seeds, in relation to how one grow as a person and how lessons learned shape one’s character as an adult. Agriculture and gardening are very significant in the daily lives of the citizens of Jonesborough, so it is vital to create a space that is useable for a variety of people at all ages in regard to learning about plants, sustainability, and how to carry this knowledge on to the children’s’ future.

Seneca “Opportunity Park” Introduction

The site chosen within Seneca, SC is nestled between Railroad St. and Main St., directly right of Ram Cat Alley. The goal for the park was to bring the “City of Opportunity” together by having a space for outdoor concerts or plays, a shaded sitting area underneath the pergola for hot summer weather, an interactive water feature, and lastly, a stone patio with tables for convening or studying outdoors. There is a field incorporated for a variety of outfoor activities. The final goal was to draw in tourists and make the dowtown area more aesthetically pleasing to citizens.

Photoshop Render The overarching goal of this project was to refurbish a lawn on Clemson University’s campus.

Watt Center

Concept Statement: For my design, I wanted to create a space that was simplistic, but also had a broad way of exploring the site to a specific visitor’s preference

Designer Statement: Like the designer, Lutsko Associates, I put an emphasis on framing views such as the reflection pond and my rain garden, as well as zeroing in on the geometrical features of their design.
