Sustainable scallops for the World PECTEN is a Peruvian scallop exporter striving for excellence and sustainability. Our strategy focuses on the technical training of local fishermen associations working in the Sechura Bay Area, thus building long-lasting commercial relationship and creating opportunities for the local communities.
Our VALUE Proposition
We engage in bringing the local fishermen associations closer to the world markets in order for them to sell a sustainable, traceable and socially responsible product.
Sechura Bay is an initiative created by PECTEN, which stems from the company’s long-standing ties with local fishermen associations in the Sechura Bay Area, Peru. Its main goal is to group these associations together and promote capacity building in order to produce a standardized product which will meet the highest quality standards available.
The alliance between PECTEN and Sechura Bay was forged in 2018 and has managed to export over 1,200 tons of high-quality scallops to the most demanding markets around the world.
