Strategic Intent and Vision
Perth College Girls:
Remarkable Women
Perth College women shape their own futures and positively influence society.
PURPOSE
We actively pursue and embrace new approaches and world-class educational excellence within an inclusive and vibrant community.
STRATEGIC INTENT (TOWARDS 2025)
The Perth College Strategic Intent (towards 2025) aims to build on all that has been achieved through the rich history of the School throughout the many years.
As part of this, it is envisaged that the future of education is shifting, and as such, so too is the future of Perth College as it aspires to be proactive and responsive ensuring the growth of exciting new programs, structures, partnerships, experiences and opportunities for the students and the community.
Our Strategic Intent and the associated Perth College Operational Plan will respect those practices, processes and structures that continue to serve the School well, whilst also being responsive to new and exciting opportunities.
Principal’s Overview
2024 has been a year of renewed energy, purposeful progress, and deep connection across the Perth College community. I was honoured to join the School in Term 4, building on the excellent leadership of Interim Principal Ms Clare Johansen and the ongoing commitment of our exceptional staff. I extend my sincere thanks to the Leadership Team, staff, families and students for their warm welcome and support as I’ve begun this journey as Principal.
Our academic and co-curricular achievements in 2024 reflect the remarkable strength and spirit of our students. Once again, Perth College achieved a 100 per cent WACE graduation rate. Seventy per cent of ATAR students achieved a score above 70 and 16 per cent completed a VET qualification—underscoring our commitment to supporting a breadth of pathways for success.
We celebrated outstanding student accomplishments in 2024 across academic, sporting and leadership domains, with multiple students receiving prestigious national and international scholarships. These milestones affirm the powerful impact of a Perth College education and the dedicated support of our teaching staff and families.
A significant highlight was the opening of the Ikey Broadfoot Building, our new Junior School facility. This inspiring space embodies our vision for future-focused, flexible and collaborative learning environments. It also stands as a testament to the enduring power of community generosity through the Perth College Foundation.
Throughout the year, we also renewed our focus on student wellbeing. A comprehensive review of our InsideOut program began in 2024, ensuring it continues to support students in building resilience, emotional literacy, and authentic connections. Wellbeing remains foundational to our approach to education and will continue to evolve with the needs of our girls.
Community engagement flourished in 2024. The reformation of the Friends of Perth College brought new energy to parent involvement and our ongoing connections with Old Girls and alumni families continue to strengthen the legacy and future of the School.
Looking to 2025, our priorities are clear. We are undertaking a full review of our Strategic Plan: Towards 2025 and the Campus Master Plan, with a strong emphasis on collaboration across students, staff, parents and the wider community. Academically, we will continue to strengthen literacy and numeracy in the Junior School, refine curriculum offerings in English and Health and Physical Education and embed reflective practice that empowers student ownership of learning.
As we plan for the future, we remain deeply committed to delivering an education grounded in excellence, inclusion and opportunity.
Thank you to everyone in our community for your ongoing support and shared belief in the mission of Perth College. Together, we continue to shape a future where every student can thrive.

There were 1002 Pre-K to Year 12 students enrolled at Perth College in 2024, including 14 international and 34 First Nations students.
ATTENDANCE
The average rate of attendance for students at Perth College in 2024 was 90.78% per cent.
Perth College, in partnership with parents, promotes regular attendance of students, as it is essential in maximising their potential at school. Parents are legally responsible for the regular attendance of their children; however, school staff regularly monitor absences as part of their duty of care.
Travel during term time is discouraged to minimise the impact on a student’s learning. Exemptions are granted in cases where students are representing their club, School or State, for example.
The school’s protocol for absentees requires parents to notify Perth College of their child’s absence prior to 9:15 am via the absentee telephone line, SMS or email. For extended absences, parents must complete a form available on SPACE.
Academic Achievement
Each year, students in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9 sit the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) test. In 2024, the proportion of Perth College students at or above the minimum national standard in the areas assessed appears in the table below.
NAPLAN data 2024 – Students at or above the minimum national standard:
Note: no results are presented below for NAPLAN in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
2024 NAPLAN
The My School website (www.myschool.edu.au) has in-depth information about the outcomes achieved by Perth College students, breaking down the figures to show parents the results by year group and discipline and how students have progressed over time. It allows for comparison between Perth College and other schools.
