WELCOME Young lives can be changed forever through art. We believe all Western Australian students should have access to remarkable arts experiences with the world’s greatest artists. We invite students to experiment, express themselves and get excited by an Education Program that mixes the playful with the profound and the purposeful. With the support of the Education Department, we have created a curriculum-linked and outcomes-based program of discounted performances, free workshops, masterclasses, mentorships and hands-on activities that have learning at their heart.

Perth Festival acknowledges that our events take place on the lands of the Noongar people and we wish to pay our respects to the traditional custodians of this Country.

We celebrate young people as engaged citizens and artists through opportunities that fire their imaginations. In 2018 we will be screening students’ short documentary films in the Lotterywest Films program, playing student-composed fanfares at Festival venues and running a Young Creatives program for students to explore a career in the arts.

As we celebrate the work of contemporary artists from around the world, we also acknowledge and respect the continuing culture of the Whadjuk people and the contribution they make to the life of this city and this region.

We’ve incorporated excursions, incursions and online engagement so that more students and teachers can get involved. We hope that teachers and students will embrace this chance to step beyond the classroom into the great world offered by the arts.
