Last year, we kicked off our Hall of Fame by honouring a true Club legend - Eddie Ansell. This year the story continues in the most fitting way possible... with another Ansell.
Arriving as a last minute signing under fellow Hall of Famer, Carey Penna, playing 20 minutes of the third league game of the season away to a strong Penryn side. From that modest beginning, Terry carved out a legacy that would resonate for decades to come.
Through the highs and the lows, the wins and the heartbreaks, Terry remained constant- always showing up, always giving everything. In moments when others have walked away, Terry dug deeper. He wore the Perranporth badge with pride, never seeking glory, only ever wanting to do right by the Club, his teammate, and the supporters watching from the sidelines. Terry's fierce competitive spirit, his work ethic, and his devotion made him one of the finest players and most respected figures to grace our Club
Terry's legendary moments on the pitch are plentiful, but one iconic moment being while playing in the Beta Falmouth and Helston league in the Winter of 1998. Playing at home to Lanner. 25 yards out from the keeper, Terry unleashed an unstoppable strike kissed by the gods - a looping volly arching high over a helpless keeper, crashing into the net like destiny itself.
Those who shared a pitch with Terry, or stood beside him on a Saturday afternoon, know exactly why he is being honoured.
He didn't just play for the team- he lived it. He lifted other, led by example, and showed what it truly means to belong to something greater than yourself
Terry this honour is richly deserved On behalf of every teammate, manager, supporter and volunteer who witnessed your journeythankyou. Your name will stand amoung the greats, right alongside your Dad, forever part of our Club's proud history.
This year, Terry will once again be taking to the pitch - but this time as the Captain of this own team, along with teammates from Terry's playing years at the Club, leading with the same determination and spirit that defined his time at the Club
Thank-you, John. Your vision, commitment, and love for this Club will never be forgotten. Perranporth AFC proudly honours your everlasting contribution to our history.
John's Induction stands as a tribute to a man whose dedication, passion and love for the Club left a incredible, mark on everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him. John served Perranporth AFC tirelessly in many roles - Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Treasurer most recently - but titles alone could never capture the true impact he had. He was the driving force behind so much of what made this Club thrive, a fierce protector or our reputation and a devoted advocate for the game we love, and is still missed at the Club today
A man with sharp wit, a warm heart and unwavering honestly. John inspired those around him. His passion for the Club ran deep, and it lives on in the foundations of the Club he helped build (quite literally!) and the standards he so proudly upheld John was a true Clubman, and a driving force behind so much of the Club's history.
Whether it was manning the Pay Box on Match Days, crafting the Match Day programme with care and pride, running the Bar for Youth teams, or stepping into every role imaginable -John was there. No task too small, no job beneath him, no effort spared. He served the Club not out of duty, but out of love.
Nearly a decade ago, John was instrumental in breathing new life into the Youth Section- laying foundations that would support generations to come. Right until his passing, John remained a tirelessly champion of youth football, always present, always involved.
His presence is woven into the fabric of our Community- a legacy of quiet service, steadfast commitment, and a heart that beat for the beautiful game. John may no longer walk among us, but his spirit lives on in every player, young or old that takes the field, and in every corner of the Club he helped build
"Football was more than just a sport to Dad, and Perranporth FC was more than just a club. The community, friendship and purpose this club gave him was undeniably one of the highlights of his move to Cornwall. He adored every aspect of club life, from working the bar to running the line. The joy Perranporth Football Club gave him was simply unmatchable" (Angela Smith, John's Daughter)
To honour John, Justyn Male will be captaining John's team in this year's tournament-
"Having spent a lot of time with John at the Club and on the Committee it will be a honour to get a team of old Perranporth players to honour him on the day" (Justin Male)
Thank-you, John. Your place in our Hall of Fame is more than deserved. Your legacy is everlasting and we are honoured to enshrine your name among the football greats of Perranporth AFC

Lee Dark wasn’t just a footballer. He was the kind of man you built a team around. The kind of teammate who didn't just wear the badge over his heart - he carried the Club in it A true warrior on the pitch, with blistering pace and a uncompromising desire to win, Lee lit up every game he played in. But more than that he made everyone around him better - with his courage, his laughter and his relentless spirit.
Lee was an exceptionally likeable character and a hugely popular player. He elevated every team he played for, bringing energy, commitment, and camaraderie to every match and changing room. The phrase "you'd want him in the trenches with you" was said often - and meant completely- by those lucky enough to share a locker room with him, truly sums up the respect and admiration his teammate had for him
Lee's story with Perranporth, began as a young, fearless 15-year-old, stepping out onto the pitch in the Under 16s Team, under the guidance of Trevor May From those early days in youth football. Lee's rise through the ranks was inevitable. What followed was a senior career marked by defining moments, passionate performances, and a devotion to the game that a few could match . Among his many contributions, few were as iconic as the unforgettable run to the Semi-Final of the Everly Memorial Cup. Lee was instrumental in that magical journey.
Blessed with blistering pace and a unwavering desire to win, Lees contributions to the Club was unmatched. He was one of the most committed and adaptable player, a true Clubman.
This year, Lee Denton will be Captaining Lee's team - a fitting tribute led by one of his close friends and teammates. We are also honoured to welcome Nikki Dark, who will attend the event and receive this award on behalf of the Dark family.
"It means so much to me that Darkys in it. And it is my honour to represent him and Captain his team. It's going to be emotional but a great day and I've built a great team to represent him".
Denton

Shaun was part of many of our Club’s greatest moments, contribution to trophy
Although no longer putting on a Club shirt on, Shaun's presence has never faded. He continues to support the Club with humility and pride -a living reminder of our values, and a symbol of what it means to be part of Perranporth AFC.
Shaun is unable to make this years Tournament, in his absence First Team Manager, Jordan Myatt will be representing him and managing his team. winning sides. Team mates speak of Shaun with utmost respect and admiration. In terms of heart, loyalty and dedication, they simply don't come much better than Shaun Clements
Shaun was part of many of our Club’s greatest moments, contribution to trophy winning side, but one of Shaun's highlight moments, was "securing the title in the old Falmouth and Helston League, Division 1, and being promoted to senior football" in the 2008/09 Season, securing the top spot with 33 wins in 38 games and a massive 174 goals that season.

But Carey's story didn't end there, turning to the dugout, stepping into the role of Reserve team Manager with the same fierce determination. He bought in a young, fellow inductee Terry Ansell
Under Carey's guidance, the reserves captured the illustrations Barker Bowl Cup and came heartbreaking close to league triumph-missing the top spot by the narrowest of margins: goal difference.
His contributions go far beyond the pitch
Carey was a pioneer. - starting the Club's youth section along with fellow inductee John Blatch, and ahead of it's time, launching a girls team that opened doors for many. He helped shape a generation of players, many of whom went on to become true Legends of the Club. His commitment, to both winning and to building something lasting, bought silverware to the Club and pride to everyone involved.
And just when you thought the boots had been hung up for good, Carey defined the yesrs and laced them up good, Carey defined the years and laced up his boots, playing for the Veterans team till the age of 61, still chasing the dream, living the game he loves.
A leader, and legend, and a man whose legacy echoes in every blade of grass and roar of the crowdCarey's journey is not just one of goals and glory, but heart, loyalty, and the unbreakable spirit of football.
Perranporth AFC is privileged to welcome you to the Hall of Fame. In fitting tribute, his son Danny will proudly Captain his father's team in this year's tournamentcontinuing the legacy.

Sam's story with Perranporth AFC spans over an incredible 25 years. A loyalty servant to the badge, he has represented the Club at every level - from starting out in the youth set-up, playing in both the first and second team's and on to the Veterans. Wherever there was a game to be played, Sam was there - boots on, heart in, ready to give everything for his team.
Know affectionately as "Mr Reliable," Sam embodied everything you could want in a teammate. Committed, dependable, consistentbut perhaps more than anything, genuinely kind and effortlessly likeable, Around the Club, there's a phrase that gets repeated time and time again: "No one has a bad word to say about Sam. " And it's true.
Sam's contribution haven't stopped when the final whistle blow's. In fact, his impact off the pitch has been just as profound. As Club secretary, he has worked tirelessly behind the scenes, often quietly, without fanfare- but always with the same dedication and drive, which has gone on to help shape Perranporth AFC into the Club we know and love today.
"Amazing club to be a part of having grown up just a few hundred yards up the road From playing youth football right through to the men's teams and finally veterans. Highlight would have to be scoring in the Barker Bowl Cup final on the way to winning the cup 2009/10 season, going on to also win the league in a double winning season. Privileged to now represent as secretary and continue the success and growth of my hometown club". Sam Harper
As we celebrate Sam in this years tournament, we are pleased to announce that first team manager, Adam Turner will be Managing Sam's team
"Sam has been our club secretary for the entire duration of our time here, and his dedication has never wavered. He has generously given countless hours of his time and has been an incredible support to us throughout our journey. His commitment, hard work, and guidance have played a huge part in helping us get to where we are today. We’re truly honoured and proud to be representing him in this tournament". Adam Turner

John' s legacy began in 1987 when he laid the foundations for the youth section. What started as a vision with fellow Hall of Famer' Carey Penna, soon became a vital part of our Club's identity.
Tthrough his tireless dedication, John nurtured generations of young footballers, building not just teams, but a pathway to our first team - and dream he helped many young players achieve.
His commitment to the development of youth talent was more than a role - it was a passion. Many went on to wear the first team shirt with pride. Among them was his own son, Dean Blatch, who will now receive this special award on behalf of his late father.
John's later went on to manage the first team alongside Cliff Hennan, continuing his mission to bring through homegrown talent and uphold the heart of what Perranporth AFC stands for.
John's time at Perranporth was filled with memorable moments, one iconic being leading the team to glory in the Percy Stephen’s Cup, back in 1996, a triumphant victory that is eched in the Club history and Honours Board, in the Club House.
Jonh's legacy lives on in every player who came through the youth ranks, in every game played with pride, and in every young person who found their confidence on our pitch, before stepping proudly into men's football, his impact echos not just in victories, but in the lives he helped shapeand true architect of dreams.
Thank-you, John. Your vision, commitment, and love for this Club will never be forgotten. Perranporth AFC proudly honours your everlasting contribution to our history.

KICK-OFF
Over the past two years, we’ve grown from a fledgling squad into two thriving and competitive teams, with over 56 players currently signed on It's been a journey marked by ambition, hard word, and belief.
Our reserve team, led with passion and determination by Martin Jeffers, completed its debut season in St Piran Division 4 West and delivered an outstanding campaign. Launching a new Reserve side, brings unique challenges that don’t always apply to a first team, so to not only fulfil every fixture but also secure 13 of 26 victories is a fantastic achievement
Meanwhile, the men’s first team were crowned Champions of St Piran Division 3 West just a few weeks ago, and etched their names in the Perranporth AFC history books an incredible feat, especially considering they were only promoted into the league last year Under the guidance of Adam Turner and Jordan Myatt, the team blended new signings with returning talent from the 2023/24 season, creating a strong and cohesive squad. Their hard work paid off, and they now look ahead to testing themselves in St Piran Division 2 West next season ( Adam Turner)
I’m immensely proud to be a part of Perranporth FC Having been involved in football for many years, I can honestly say this has been the most enjoyable and fulfilling chapter of my footballing journey. There’s something truly special about this club, the passion, the commitment, the sense of togetherness, it runs deep through everyone involved, from the players to the volunteers. It’s been a privilege to see the incredible history built by those who came before me, and I feel genuinely honoured to now play my part in continuing that story
Over the past two seasons, I’ve watched this club grow in ways I never could’ve imagined. To gain promotion in our first year together was incredible, but to then go on and win the league this season has been nothing short of magical. Moments like these stay with you forever. I’ve also been proud to help build a reserve side that has gone from strength to strength and become an important part of the club’s journey. What we’re creating here is more than just a team, it’s a family. Perranporth FC is on the rise, and I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of it. (Jordan Myatt)
