EMC News - With the cutting of a ribbon the staff at the Salvation Army Church celebrated the end of renovations at the Brockville Street facility and the continuation of their work in the community. A number of parishioners and stakeholders came together on the grounds of the church Oct. 27 to celebrate the end of a renovation that was several months in the making. Majors Faith and Malcolm Cameron took the opportunity to thank all who had a hand in making this grand re-opening possible, including those parishioners who donated $500,000 for the project to be completed. "I want to thank the donors that gave us the funds," Major Malcolm Cameron said. "Without them we couldn't have done it." It was noted none of the funds donated by the public were used for the building unless it was specifically asked. All community donations support the ongoing out reach programs the church offers.
