EMC Events - Campbellford - Flying in from the North Pole with his reindeer jolly Saint Nicholas landed in town the same day as the first few flakes of snow for the festive season. Sitting atop his sleigh pulled by his eight reindeer with Rudolf in the lead, the portly white-haired mythical figure brought with him good cheer to the crowd that lined the streets to watch the traditional Santa Claus Parade. Organized by co-chairs Nancy Allanson and Brian Redden the theme this year was “Glitter and Gold.” From the schoolchildren to marching bands to clubs and organizations decorated floats lined the parade route and were joined by Christmas elves and shiny red fire trucks while candy canes

and Christmas tuques were handed out and food collected for the local food bank. Santa Claus took time out of his busy day to greet children at Old Mill Park before flying off to his other stops that day. Jolly old Saint Nicholas will be visiting Warkworth Friday, December 7, for their annual evening parade. There were about 55 entries in this year’s parade. The float entry winners are: Business Float: Campbellford Curves - Groovin’ to a Disco Beat; Community Organization (a tie): Aron Theatre Co-operative, and Christian Community Group; Individual: Jayden Corbeil - Santa’s Jealous of My Ride; Youth Organization: Campbellford Brownies; Honourable Mention: CKOL 93.7 Please see “Jolly” on page 3
