Take in public skating, movie during holidays

EMC News – There’s plenty for children and the whole family to do over the Christmas break in the Kemptville area. Tim Hortons is once again sponsoring a series of free family public skating opportunities at the North Grenville Municipal Centre arena over the holidays. While sessions have already taken place on Dec. 22 and Dec. 24, there are two more chances to get a skate in. The next holiday family

skate will be on Saturday, Dec. 29 from 6 to 7:20 p.m., followed by Monday, Dec. 31 from 10 to 11:20 a.m. Please note that children under 17 must be accompanied by an adult during these skates. The Municipality of North Grenville is also offering its popular ‘Skate and a Movie’ events to keep kids occupied and entertained over the holidays. The movies kick off at 3 p.m. each day, with skating to follow between 1 and 2:50 p.m.
First up is ‘Arthur Christmas’ on Dec. 28, followed by ‘ParaNorman’ Jan. 2, ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days’ on Jan. 3 and wrapping up with ‘Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted,’ on Jan. 4. The ‘Skate and a Movie’ package is just $5, however those who want to see the movie can pay $3.75, or skate for $2. Please keep in mind that no skating aids can be used during the public skates, only family skates. For more information on the ‘Skate and a Movie’
