What Is A Land Bridge? For the sake of this road trip, that land bridges being visited are all manmade attempts to cross industrialized zones or highways that have interrupted ecological and social environments in the United States. Types of land bridges include those purely designed for nature and pedestrian corssing as well as those with building and parks being constructed atop them.
The Irony of A Land Bridge Road Trip Part of the idea of "The Great American Road Trip" comes from the idealized American Dream of being able to hop on the highway and drive coast to coast to coast on a journey through the country. However, the construction of those highways often cut though the hearts of often majority minority or poorer neighborhoods as well as interrupted the ecosystems surrounding the roads. The land bridges on this trip have all been created in an attempt to fix the problems created by the roads needed to make the road trip possible
