TRIATHLON’S GREEN EDGE By FIONA EWINGTON MANY OF US WILL HAVE WITNESSED THE BUZZ, EXCITEMENT AND SHEER ATHLETICISM FROM THIS YEAR’S GARMIN NOOSA TRIATHLON MULTISPORT FESTIVAL RECENTLY, AS OVER 7,000 ATHLETES CAME TO TEST THEIR ENDURANCE ABILITIES AT THE GREATEST TRIATHLON IN THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE.

overflowing with athletes and their friends and families. Over 800 local volunteers raised approx $33,000 for local organisations and with festival events including, The Asics Breakfast Fun Run, 2XU Ocean Swim, Garth Prowd Ride, Superkids and Tingirana Noosa Special Tri, there was something for everyone to compete in. In addition, every event participant donated $1 to Trees for Tourism, an environmental sustainability initiative by Tourism Noosa in partnership with Noosa & District Landcare. Continued, page 2
