April 25, 2022, marks 107 years since the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZACs) landed at Gallipoli in Turkey during the First World War to join the Allies in a bid to remove Turkey from the war. Locally, Anzac Day ceremonies are held each year at the CoolumPeregian RSL on David Low Way and at Tewantin-Noosa RSL at Tewantin. In both cases the ceremonies and marches start at 5.15am sharp. well attended, with people well advised to turn up earlier in order to find a car park and a spot from which to watch the ceremonies. Anyone who would like to lay a wreath at the events should contact the relevant RSL. At Tewantin, the Dawn Service is held at the Cenotaph at 5.30am. There is a service at Tewantin Cemetary at 6.30am and the Anzac Day Parade is held along Poinciana Ave to the Cenopath at 9am.
