Vitamin B5 is also known as pantothenic acid, by the way. It’s a water soluble vitamin, meaning that it is not stored in the body as fat soluble vitamins are. Water soluble vitamins can be ruined when the foods containing them are exposed to too much heat or by boiling. So where does a person get vitamin B5? Well, it can be taken in tablet form as a dietary supplement. Usually, however, vitamins are more effective if they are part of a person’s regular diet. There are many foods that contain high quantities of vitamin B5, including many mushrooms, salmon, lentils, avocados, sunflower seeds, lean cuts of chicken and beef, and pork chops.
