Much of our work at Pepperwood is measuring complex and variable phenomena. We combine large sets of meticulously collected data on our climate, ecosystems, and wildlife in order to place the health of our region’s natural resources under a microscope. By adjusting the focus, we resolve patterns that advance our understanding about the natural systems that sustain us.
We must be nimble. We go slowly to fill observation gaps over time, but we also respond to our community’s urgent call to accelerate the pace and scale of wildfire and drought resilience actions. Based on a close understanding of our community
needs, Pepperwood works with the scientific community to better define our resilience strategies and actions.
