'Just Crushed' 2022 Summer Edition

Our 2022 whites are looking terrific, and final touches on our 2021 Single Vineyard Reds are underway.

We’ve enjoyed some great events with our members throughout Spring - our recent Q4 Winemakers Luncheon was a wonderful day and gave us the opportunity to show off our current wines in our beautiful barrel room. Our annual Member’s Gala – this year taking place at Luna Park, and our recent Harbour Cruise were great fun for our members and staff, and we look forward to our next events in the new year!

With the vines beginning to move, we’re now focussing on the upcoming 2023 vintage. We’ve made some significant changes to the winery which I am sure will be another great step forward for us. We’re hopeful that 2023 will bring us another stellar vintage.

As I move onto the next chapter of my winemaking career, I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone at Pepper Tree Wines for making my time here very special. Thanks for your ongoing support and giving me the opportunity to make some delicious wine, all the best for 2023.

WOW its hard to believe it is nearly Christmas, where has the year gone!

The Club Crew would like to say a big thank you to all our members for all your support throughout the year and also for coming along to our events and having a fantastic time!!

Its been a big year for all of us, with all our events back up and running and also coming back visiting the Cellar Door, its been great seeing you all again and enjoying a glass or two of wine to celebrate.

So cheers with a glass of Sparkling Silenus to a New and Exciting 2023Stay Safe Take Care and we will see you at Sails on Lavender Bay for our first event in March.

Nick Kruger Assistant Winemaker

What is your role at PTW, and how are you finding it?

I’ve joined the Pepper Tree team as an Assistant Winemaker, having moved over from my home in the Barossa Valley. I most enjoy the diversity and unique wine styles that come with working for a multi-regional producer.

What are you currently drinking?

I’ve been exploring some great Orange Rieslings and current release Hunter Chardonnays. With the weather starting to warm up I’ve also been enjoying our 2017 Silenus Sparkling.

What do you like to do outside of PTW?

I’m still new to the Hunter Valley so I’ve been busy exploring everything the region has to offer. I’ve been enjoying Newcastle’s beautiful beaches and great food spots.

What is your role at PTW, and how are you finding it?

Cellar Door Sales. I thoroughly enjoy sharing our wines with customers and imparting a little bit of knowledge & making the Cellar Door experience a memorable one.

What are you currently drinking?

I’m currently enjoying our 2014 Hunter Valley Semillon.

What do you like to do outside of PTW?

I enjoy bike riding, golf, camping & nice long coastal walks.

What is your role at PTW, and how are you finding it?

Cellar Door Sales. “It’s the vibe” – we have an amazing team at Pepper Tree, and all have fun, support each other and we all love great wine! It’s a great environment, beautiful office and we meet great people.

What are you currently drinking?

Always love a Chardonnay.

What do you like to do outside of PTW?

I have 4 border collie/kelpie dogs and I love walking with them in the Dungog common where I live. I like to keep fit and love a BBQ with nice wine.

Dinner Review

In October, we celebrated our 31st birthday with a party in the Crystal Ballroom at Luna Park. We had a blast partying with our amazing members and pepper tree family, with plenty of singing and dancing on the night.

We had a wonderful 4 course degustation, which matched perfectly with the wines we showcased on the night. Thank you so much to the professional Luna Park catering team for looking after us. The amazingly talented “The Baker Boys” provided us with some incredible tunes that brought the dance floor to life.

We had such amazing feedback from our wines, and we’re thrilled to see that our members enjoyed our wine line-up. Some of our members won some big prizes on the night too, which is always a joy to see. The views on Sydney Harbour were an incredible backdrop to the lights and sounds of the Crystal Ballroom. It was quite the sight.
