WELCOME

People with Passion began as a strategic initiative in 2021 designed to foster a culture of passionately engaged people across the organization. If we recruit and retain the best talent to support all initiatives and foster our culture and values, we will be successful in all that we do.

Since it began, the People with Passion core team along with their executive sponsors, Bob Schroeder and Peggy Petersen, identified four key areas to support this mission including: • Leadership and culture • Employee focus • Engagement with the company • Engagement with community

SUB TEAMS Recently the core team, made up of 9 employees, split up to cover these four focus areas. The teams recruited more employees to assist with bringing the ideas to support the initiatives to life. An additional 29 employees are now part of People with Passion and they are just getting started with the first impactful initiatives.

A

s part of People with Passion initiatives, our HR team, under the guidance of Ross Hellenbrand, implemented a one day training course called “People Development Training”.

This program was created and customized for Sub-Zero Group specifically. It draws from the people development definition and incorporates training activities and tools leaders can use to develop their teams.

• We have completed 4 training classes so far (April 19, 27, May 3 , 4, 10 and 17).

• 1 more upcoming on June 14.

• After these 7 sessions, 131 total employees will have the training completed.

• All sessions are in Wisconsin except June 14 will be in Goodyear.

• We will host future trainings based on demand. We are in the process of looking at a customized certificate program through UW Center for Professional and Executive Development (CPED).

The training runs one day and is offered to any salaried employee who has at least one, full-time, direct report. The training is great for leaders to go through if they want insight or clarification on how to most successfully develop people at Sub-Zero Group. We broke into 4 groups to tackle our “do first” items; we are starting to plan our first actions around these topics: • Resource planning • Employee recognition • Budget for recognizing employees • Improving employee onboarding

ENGAGEMENT WITH COMMUNITY

T

he focus of the team is to create company organized and supported outreach activities and events that not only create community outreach, but also team building and bonding with our employees.

The goal is to have opportunities for community outreach that break down into 3 main categories: Volunteering, Quarterly supply Drives, and Fund Raising.

Below are a few organized events that have occurred and will take place in 2022 so far:

• Red Cross Blood Drive on April 5, 2022 • Crazy Legs Race on April 30, 2022. Had 73 participants and raised $375 to be donated to WAGS. • The Care Café happened on May 11. This was a fund raiser for St. Vincent de Paul.

• The team is working on coordinating volunteering for Badger Honor Flight, Habitat for Humanity, and setting up Animal Supply drives .

ngagement with Company focuses on building company pride and making all of our employees passionate brand ambassadors!

The first categories the Engagement with Company team is focused on are communications, socialization and product and factory tours.

uring the shutdown Scott Wareing and the executive team launched a monthly communication video to help keep employees informed on the state of the business. Employees we interviewed last year expressed resounding support for these communications, and the exec team has responded by continuing the effort!

In an effort to keep employees aware of progress being made, PWP updates will be included in the bi-monthly “Living Well” publication. Additionally, you can find updates on the PWP sharepoint site.
