100% YES! I would do this trip again for sure! This state park has it all! Many trails, all with different terrain. We took the lighthouse trail first - just over 3 miles there and back. Amazing views and hiking through sand dunes. Our 2nd trail was the Island trail on boardwalks and over the lake and through the forest areas. So much to see. The moss is like fluorescent green and the water is so serene. Tons of kayakers and cute brides to cross that allow kayaks to float underneath. No expectations, no specific destinations as we crossed the “Mighty Mac.” We only knew one thing on this little trip, we were making a pit stop to see some bears!
Our first stop on the way was Mackinac Island to ride our bikes. We crossed Lake Huron from Mackinaw City. From there our trip led us to stay the night in St. Ignace.
