Guest Speaker ROGERS LAUGAND III

In 34 years at Clarion, Rogers Laugand, assistant VP for DEI Student Support, has advocated for diversity, equity and inclusion. He directed Multicultural Affairs and Minority Student Services; as assistant director of Admissions, he focused on minority recruitment. He serves on the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Breakfast and the Frederick Douglass Scholars committees. His initiatives include Building Bridges, which promotes diversity, equity and inclusion dialogue, and the W.E.B. DuBois Fund to assist underrepresented students. In the community, he mentors youth through his Rising Stars AAU Basketball Program. He received the National Collegiate Minority Award, Student Senate’s Equity Award, and the Christian Life Skills, Inc., Certificate of Commitment to Nurturing Youth.

Guest Speaker RON RADAKER

Ron Radaker, director of the Office for Students with Disabilities, is a champion for diversity, equity, civility and inclusion. He was a member of Clarion’s Presidential Commission on LGBT+ Concerns since it began in 2009, and he continues on both PennWest’s LGBTQ+ and Disabilities commissions. He has advocated for SafeZone training and, through speaking engagements and collaboration on campus and in the community, he has shared the importance of DEI work. Radaker has served on the Presidential Commission for Sexual Harassment, Diversity Committee, Preferred First Names Committee, Foundations for Excellence, and Clarion County Promise. He advises Allies Club and Veterans Club. He believes all people have value and something to offer.
