RHYL
EDWARD HENRY STREET, RHYL
The £3.89m project, which is a partnership between ClwydAlyn Housing, Denbighshire County Council and Welsh Government, has seen the 33 of the existing flats demolished and now the construction of 13 three-bedroom affordable family homes by NWPS Construction. The new homes are part of the Transforming Towns Scheme for the redevelopment of West End of Rhyl. Five of the new homes fall into the conservation area which will see the reconstruction of the facades to look the same as the existing properties in order to preserve the area’s rich heritage. The expected completion date for the project is Spring 2024.

PROGRESS UPDATE AND LOOKING AHEAD
Work on site is progressing well, all the buildings have been demolished and the bricks on site have been crushed for reusing as fill. The groundwork contractors have started to excavate ready for pouring foundations. The site set up has arrived and in place. The next operation will be to pile the western side of the site to avoid a collapse whilst the groundworkers work in the areas that were originally cellars. Over the next couple of months, you’ll see the foundations poured with concrete, blockwork will be built up to the floor level and concrete beam floors will be fitted. Scaffold will then be erected to enable the erection of the timber frames.
