Welcome Winter Welcome to our Journey to Health winter program guide, containing our class offerings for the months of January, February and March. Even though it’s cold outside, we believe that winter is a perfect time to reflect on your health and take better care of you. Why not join us to cook, relax and play? From sharpening your cooking skills, to taking up martial arts, to simply learning to breathe, our winter classes will help make this year your best one yet! Registration Information How to Register Please visit journeytohealth.coursestorm.com. Classes are listed by the same categories you’ll find in this guide. Simply select the class you’re interested in, click “Register” and complete the registration information. Payment can be in the form of check, credit or debit card. Discounts are available online for seniors (age 65 and older) and veterans (those who served in the armed forces of the United States). Registration is required for all classes unless otherwise noted. If you need help registering for a class, have questions, need financial assistance or would like to request a family discount, please call 921-3950.

Healthy Lifestyles is an effective group-based lifestyle change program proven to prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes by 58%. It is a program of the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention. Program participants learn ways to build healthier eating habits and add physical activity into their daily life while working with a Lifestyle Coach and other group participants to identify and overcome barriers to making modest lifestyle changes. This is a lifestyle change program, not a weight loss program. Call 930-2684 to receive an application.

FREE CLASSES Adventures in the Snow Join the Community Health & Wellness team for guided snowshoe hikes. Enjoy nature, good company and exercising in the crisp air of winter. Come join us in this joyful dance program designed specifically for people with movement difficulties. Experience the mood-lifting power of music and dance in this four-session class with instructor Katie Tranzillo. Participants are encouraged to bring a friend, family member or caregiver to join in the fun for free.

Are you looking for something new and fun to help you get moving and increase your heart rate? Join Master Randy Gelo for this eight-week class to increase your heart health, strength, flexibility and energy level with martial arts movements. No previous experience required.

Just for Kids Yoga (Ages 5 - 9) Traditionally, children are introduced to yoga through stories, songs and games. Jessica Shepard, certified yoga instructor, will continue this practice in this eight-week class, where your children will move in and out of yoga poses joyfully and explore stories that teach us about happiness, sadness, anger, love and much more.

Cancellation Policy Class Cancellations Journey to Health reserves the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment or unexpected events. If either occurs, we will notify you by email and your class fees will be refunded.

Weather Cancellations If Journey to Health cancels a class due to weather, we will put a message on our voicemail at 921-3950 at least two hours before the class start time. You can also find cancellations posted on our Facebook page: facebook.com/J2HWellness Due to our large geographic region (Knox and Waldo counties), classes may be canceled in one location but on at another. Please call with any questions.

Refunds Class fees will be refunded if a class is cancelled. No refunds will be given within 24 hours of a class start time or after a class has started. Refunds will be issued in the manner payment was made and may take up to three weeks for processing. To request a refund, please call 921-3950.


CarePartners Having trouble paying for medicine? Having trouble paying for healthcare? No health insurance? CarePartners is a large network of doctors, hospitals and other healthcare providers who have volunteered to provide many healthcare services you may need such as: • • • •

Regular check-ups and care when you are sick Prescription medications you can afford Lab, x-ray and hospital services at no cost Referrals to services and resources

We help everyone find services and programs. Even if you don’t qualify for the CarePartners program, we can help you find and apply for other free and low cost healthcare and prescription services.
