ENROLL TODAY!

The Summer at Pembroke Hill program offers a wide range of engaging and educational classes for students ages 2 through grade 12.

Classes are available in half-day or full-day options. Please refer to the specific classes and descriptions listed by grade level and week for detailed information. Enrollment is based on the grade level your student will enter in the upcoming fall.

Class sizes are limited, so registration operates on a firstcome, first-paid basis. We encourage early enrollment online at www.pembrokehill.org.

REGISTRATION DATES

Registration for current Pembroke Hill families begins on February 3, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.

Registration for the public begins on February 6, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.

ENROLLMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Families can easily manage student enrollments online at anytime. Our fast, safe and easy online enrollment process is available at www.pembrokehill.org under School Life > Summer at PHS.

TO REGISTER:

1. Click the Registration link to access our registration website.

2. If you’re new to Summer at Pembroke Hill, click Create a New Account. First, enter parent information, then select Add a Person to This Account to add each student you wish to enroll.

3. In the Current Reservations box, select Make New Reservation.

4. Click on the student’s name. Only age-appropriate classes with available space will be displayed.

5. Select the desired classes, then click Next.

6. Review your shopping cart for accuracy.

7. Click Payment and enter your payment information. Items in your cart will not be saved unless you complete the payment process.

8. A confirmation email will be sent to the primary contact’s email address.

Our program is open to all students. We encourage all families, new and returning, to come and enjoy everything Pembroke Hill has to offer.

PRICING & FEES

Fees for each class are listed under each division. All fees include materials and student supplies. The fees for additional services, such as Lunch and Extended Day, can be found on page 11.

DISCOUNTS

Significant savings are applied on the dollar amount of classes purchased. We are excited to offer our volume discount program on a per-household basis. Families enrolling multiple children (siblings) may combine their enrollments to reach the various levels of discounts offered. Volume discounts are automatically applied at checkout.

Discounts can not be applied to the fee for lunch and the following classes:

Coterie Theater classes, Pedal Kids Bike Camp classes, Sunset Stables classes, Chess classes, Madam President Camp, and The College Essay Writing class.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

Summer at Pembroke Hill reserves the right to cancel any class at its discretion. If a class is canceled, parents will be notified in advance and will have the option to either transfer their enrollment fees to another class or receive a full refund for the canceled class(es).

Cancellations

Parents wishing to cancel their child’s enrollment may do so and receive a refund, provided the cancellation request is made at least seven days before the start of the session. A $50 cancellation fee per class will apply. Cancellations made after the deadline will not be refunded. There are no refunds for class fees or lunch fees if a student is absent.

Refund Timeline

Refunds for confirmed cancellations will be processed as follows:

For class(es) in Weeks 1-4 (May 27 - June 20), refunds are expected by July 1.

For class(es) in Weeks 5-9 (June 23 - August 1), refunds are expected by September 1.

CLASS TRANSFERS

Transfers

We understand that summer schedules can change. If, after May 12, 2025, you discover that your child cannot attend a class for which they are enrolled, you may transfer them to another class. Please note that you will be responsible for any difference in course fees. Transfers must be made by a Summer Programs staff member and must be completed at least seven days prior to the first day of the class.

LUNCH

Full-day students are in for a treat! Our dining team will provide a variety of healthy and delicious lunch options* each day. The weekly lunch fee is $40, which must be added to all full-day reservations. Please note that lunch is not available for students enrolled only in half-day classes. We appreciate your understanding that outside lunches are not permitted.

*If your student has medically necessary dietary restrictions, please notify the summer programs office in advance. We will make every effort to accommodate these needs, though this may require communication with your child’s doctor. Please include this information in your summer programs account before the student’s first day of class. The required form will be available during the online registration process.

EXTENDED DAY

In addition to our classes, the Extended Day program is available for families needing additional care. Extended Day includes both free play and organized activities, creating a balanced and engaging experience for students.

Families who wish to use Extended Day on a drop-in basis must have a credit card on file. The drop-in fee will be automatically charged to the card the following week.

Extended Day | 3:30-6:00 p.m. | $100 per week

Daily Drop-In Rates | $30 per day

*After 6:00 p.m. you will be billed late fees at the rate of $5.00 per minute. Repeated pick up after 6:00 p.m. may jeopardize the use of the extended day program.

LOCATION INFORMATION

Early Childhood and Lower School classes will be held on our Wornall Campus (400 W. 51st St), while Middle School and Upper School classes will take place on our Ward Parkway Campus (5121 State Line Road).

For everyone’s safety, please follow these guidelines along with using standard caution:

- Drive cautiously at all times.

- Refrain from using cellphones while driving in the parking lot.

- Follow designated entrance and exit patterns.

- Avoid parking in a space to wait for your student.

DROP OFF

Drop-off begins 15 minutes before class starts (8:15 a.m. or 12:15 p.m.).

On the Wornall Campus (400 W. 51st St), there are two drop-off locations:

- In the 51st Street lot, please drop off in front of the Hibschman Early Childhood Building for Early Years, Preschool, and Prekindergarten.

- For students in grades K-5, drop off in front of the Intermediate Building.

Please have riders exit on the curbside and follow all safety procedures.

On the Ward Parkway Campus (5121 State Line Road), drop-off is located at the Upper School entrance facing State Line Road.

If your student requires a late drop-off or early pick-up, please call the Summer Programs office at 816-936-1321. This will help us ensure they get to where they need to be.

DROP OFF & PICK UP

PICK UP

At dismissal, students will be brought to their drop-off location. Drivers should remain in their vehicles and proceed through the loading lanes. Please avoid leaving cars unattended in the loading area.

- Pull forward as far as possible.

- Follow directions from our staff.

- Inform staff of the student(s) you’re picking up to help keep the line moving efficiently.

For early pick-up, please notify us at least 30 minutes in advance so we can have your student ready. A staff member will bring your student to your car upon arrival. Students not picked up by 3:45 p.m. will be sent to Extended Day, and the daily drop-in fee will be charged to your summer programs account.

Security and summer staff will be available daily to assist with arrival and dismissal.

Early Childhood Summer Programs are a magical place for young learners.

We provide opportunities for students to learn through exploring, investigating, questioning, experimenting, reflecting and interacting. Our program is influenced by the world-renowned Reggio Emilia philosophy of education, which is reinforced through our developmentally appropriate classrooms, small and large group activities and wonderful outdoor spaces.

Students will look forward to sessions full of fun, learning and making memories with their friends.

Classes are only offered in two-week sessions in order to provide more consistency within the classroom.

Students must be 2 years old by July 1 of the year in which classes begin in order to be considered for early years. Students must be 3 years old by July 1 of the year in which classes begin in order to be considered for preschool. Students must be 4 years old by July 1 of the year in which classes begin in order to be considered for prekindergarten.

Inspiration can come from anywhere! Be prepared to put brush to canvas as you spend this session as an artist. Through various techniques and creative exercises, you’ll explore new ways to express yourself and bring your artistic visions to life.

THE COTERIE’S FINDING NEMO JR.

Two Week Course - Based on the beloved 2003 Pixar movie, Finding Nemo JR. brings a vibrant underwater world to life on stage in a story full of family, friendship, and adventure. Featuring memorable songs such as “Just Keep Swimming,” “Fish Are Friends Not Food,” and “Go With the Flow,” actors will get to step up to the challenge to bring these popular characters to life on stage. Students registered for this camp must be able to attend performances July 18 and 19.

This course will help students prepare for the ACT, PSAT, and SAT by focusing on the writing prompts and how to structure effective responses. BUDGETING AND FINANCE

Gain all the foundational knowledge you need to succeed with money after high-school. Students will learn essential budgeting and personal finance skills through interactive activities. They will explore topics like income, expenses and savings by simulating real-life financial decisions, including career choice, housing and transportation costs. Students will also examine long-term financial planning, such as retirement and health insurance, to understand the impact of their financial choices. By the end of the course, they will be equipped with practical tools to manage their finances responsibly and plan for the future.

COLLEGE EXPLORATION

Designed for rising sophomores and juniors, this course jump-starts the college admissions journey by exploring personal and career assessments, navigating the college search, and understanding the full admissions process from application to decision. Students will also begin to explore the concept of college “fit,” helping them identify schools that align with their goals and interests.
