Machel Montano flies above his competition while winning Soca Monarch 2012- Dexter Tittil Machel Montano defended his title with the most MIND BLOWING performance yet! Machel, brought cricketer Brian Lara on stage as well as Project Runway winner Anya AyoungChee on to the stage, but if this wasn’t enough he left his fans and critics totally dumbfounded with his aeronautical stunt.

Declaring “ah going and put this flag of Trinidad and Tobago on de moon” Machel concluded his performance of his 2012 Carnival hit, “Pump Yuh Flag” by literally flying above his competitors and the stadium! Where did he get that jetpack? What’s next for Machel? Can he top this performance? Only time will tell!

Syri turns 3 Little Syri Alvarez seems to be in for quite a treat from her doting parents- Antonio and Fay Ann Alvarez, known in the Soca world as the royal couple of Bunji Garlin and Fay Ann Lyons. The two- year-old turned three on Tuesday, February 28th and according to some pre-birthday tweets, inclusive of a photo shared on Twitter with followers of the Soca heavyweights, little Syri is in for some great birthday gifts!

New Management for Umi? Triniyard International, a promotional entity based in Jamaica is currently in talks with young musician Umi Marcano about his future as an artiste. The company is currently in charge of Marcano’s bookings, public relations, marketing and promotiion of the Trinidad and Tobago entertainer in a bid to propel him to international stardom. Jamal from Triniyard International said that nothing is finalised in terms of managing Marcano but that they are currently in charge of his affairs, stating that they’ve put a team in place, specifically charged with promoting Marcano. “Umi is one of the better voices in Trinidad and as long as he gets the right support, we want to move him from where he is now to where he is supposed to be; to that level.” said Jamal. He said that one of his D.J contacts in Slovakia had heard Marcano and requested some of his music. When he visited Trinidad, he decided to take the opportunity to talk to Marcano about his future.

'Play wit It.' That's the name of the brand new line of 'celebrity inspired' condoms out of Trinidad and Tobago. The initiative comes from the camp of the Millionaire Family and is being marketed by none other than the rude-boy in the clan, Orlando Octave. News of the initiative broke during the Carnival 2012 season on social networking site Twitter where fans of the young entertainer congratulated him on his latest effort to use his celebrity in the promotion of something positive and needed.

Ready for Fire Fete Toronto Fay Ann Lyons Alvarez- one of Soca's leading ladies recently wrapped up her official 2012 photo-shoot with Toronto based, Trinbagonian photographer, Theresa Murphy, known to many as Teeography. The shoot was done at Jepnest studios in Trinidad and by the looks of it, it was a photography session well done. Fay Ann also took time out to promote Fire Fete in Toronto in April- a fete she’s already billed to headline after Carnival 2012 in Trinidad.

POWERED BY AMBITION From the streets of South Side Trinidad raised in La Horquetta Arima, It all started six years ago. The love for music was all around me, so choosing the path I took wasn't a difficult choice. All journeys ... become learning experiences & I wouldn't let anybody deprive me off my goal. With influences like Hip Hop legends 2pac & B.I.G along with Jay Z, Jadakiss , Ludadcris, Fabolous just two name a few all I needed to do was add that Trinidad flavor to a well focused mind.

Gods" but my mission proved to be a solo one.

Upon wishing all my comrades luck on there separate parts to stardom my goal became even clearer. After that day I swore to put in twice as much hard work & dedication to turn my dream into a reality. I am currently C.E.O of B.M.G Entertainment 1 half of Diamond Sky Entertainment & I’m recording Artistes at Skymax & Utmost Production based in Vessany ,La Brea Trinidad & Tobago.

I am also currently furthering my studies in Graphic DesignMy music speaks for itself, I ing & Video Editing I've rap about things I been through worked with some popular & things I would like to acTrinidad hip hop producers & complish. Along the way came studios such as "DeeJay Punn some obstacles which I calmly & Beboo" of Lion's Den Studiovercame. I’ve been with two os, DLL Productionz, different groups in the past Cloud9TT Studios & SteveN"Wreckless Boyz" & "City Of Bling Production from Rich-

Your attitude determines your success or defeat. So I never doubt myself for a minute about doing hip hop music in the land of Soca. I've performed at numerous Events: Clubs, House Parties, Local Hip Hop Concerts etc. I always put 100% in all my performances so people can feel & understand where am coming from & where I would like go. I take good advice into consideration & criticism as fuel & a stepping stone to my goal. So with that said join me in my journey to the top !

My Team Events hosted its first Road Trip for 2012 to the Toco Lighthouse and Saline Bay on Sunday 26th February, 2012. Over 25 patrons enjoyed “A Slice of Paradise” at one of the North Eastern sides of the island’s most popular beaches and historical sites. The exciting event company that plans and hosts themed team events, was formed in January of this year for one simple reason, Trinbagonians love to lime and enjoy themselves, particularly in groups. All of the events the company hosts be they competitive or social, will be centered on teams. The Road Trip was one such event. Thought the journey to the Toco Lighthouse was a long one, pa-

trons enjoyed their visit to the historical site which was first opened in 1897 and had been recently been refurbished. After a fun game of charades under one of the shady gazebos and the celebration of one of the patron’s birthday, the group enjoyed the scenic view and took lots of pictures on the massive rock at the Galera Point. It is at this point that Caribbean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean, and the closest point to our sister island, Tobago. The next stop was Saline Bay, just a five minute drive back from the lighthouse. The water was cool and calm, the atmosphere was warm and it was a windy day, perfect conditions for an enjoyable day at the beach. And everyone who attended the Road Trip did just that, the kids, teenagers and adults all frolicked along the shoreline and in the clear waters of Sally Bay as it is more popularly called. With such memorable moments being made, the trip was not short of photos. The official photographer Bess Vybez International captured the excitement throughout the Road Trip. Sponsors of the event included Dixee, Oasis Cran-Water and White Oak. After the beach, the patrons left Toco feeling relaxed, refreshed and ready for another Road Trip! The Road Trip is for the adventure seeker, the nature lover, the history enthusiast and those who have a passion for new experiences.
