Pegasus 2025 Kia atawhai ki te tangata
WELCOME TO OUR FIRST ISSUE OF PEGASUS 2025 It’s a collection of stories - He Pitopito Kōrero, highlighting the work that Pegasus Health is doing in the primary health care space.
THE PEGASUS RESPONSE TO COVID-19 When COVID-19 emerged as a pandemic, Pegasus staff connected with their colleagues throughout the Canterbury health system to respond. We are grateful to all our staff Pegasus-wide, who went above and beyond to help control the outbreak and to ensure we had the best possible primary care response in place. Of those people, Pegasus Nursing Development Coordinator Di Bos, Pegasus Project Manager Akshay Shukla, Pegasus Commercial Manager Chris Lee and Canterbury Clinical Network Integrated Services Programme Manager Deborah

Callahan, are among those who worked tirelessly during the Level 4 lock down, setting up Community Based Assessment Centre (CBAC) testing centres across the district, putting in place telephone triage systems, communicating to general practice and pharmacies and sourcing Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and testing kits while ensuring we worked together as one system. The system worked well as we coordinated through the Canterbury Primary Response Group (CPRG) with the Canterbury DHB, our fellow PHOs and the Ministry of Health. I was proud to see the team in action both as Pegasus CEO and in my role as CRPG Incident Controller. VINCE BARRY, CEO / MANUKURA PEGASUS HEALTH
