We offer comprehensive training programs with advanced technological capabilities, modern equipment, facilities and skilled instructors. Diversified training programs and customized services are offered at our three campuses. We welcome you to join us in lifelong learning. Full-Time Career Development Programs Cosmetology/Cosmetology Advanced This 1,500-hour or 1,800-hour program prepares students to take the Ohio Board of Cosmetology Licensure Exam, which allows successful completers to work as hairstylists, estheticians and nail technicians. Students may choose to take an additional 300hour course, which prepares them for salon management.

Dental Assisting Pending approval by the Council on Occupational Education.

This 900-hour program prepares students to work with patients as part of a team of health professionals, using the equipment found in a dental practice and lab. Students can earn certification to begin a career and ready for further education. Job shadowing may be available.

Heavy Equipment and Site Construction Technician and CDL A This 600-hour or 820-hour course utilizes the NCCER curriculum.

Students receive training on 11 pieces of Caterpillar equipment.

Instruction includes reading blueprints, grade checking equipment, GPS equipment (survey and machine operation), safety, and preventive maintenance. The 820-hour course includes CDL Class A Commercial Truck Driver training and HazMat training.

Required externship: (120 hours).

Electromechanical PLC Technician This 900-hour program provides classroom and hands-on training needed for entry-level maintenance positions in today’s industrial setting. Fees include tuition, e-book computer access seats, FANUC Robotics Programming and System Integration, OSHA 10-hour General Industry and American Heart First-Aid/ CPR certifications.

Electrical Power Line Mechanic This 900-hour program provides skills needed to be highly productive on utility and construction company line crews in the power delivery industry. The program focuses strongly on students learning the academic and field skills necessary to be successful apprentice line workers. Fees include tuition, textbooks, tools, CDL Class A Training, and certifications for OSHA 10-hour and American Heart First-Aid/CPR.

Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning This 600-hour HVAC program provides training in required skills for entry level positions with companies that install, operate, troubleshoot and service light commercial and domestic air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating equipment in private homes, office buildings, factories, etc. OSHA 10-hour General Industry and American Heart First-Aid/CPR, EPA (Sec 608 & R410A), and ICE certifications.

Information Technology Cisco Certified Network Administrator or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate Both programs cover the skills needed to quickly get certifications in CompTIA A+, Security+, Server+, Network+, Linux Essentials, and Windows 7 Configuration (MCTS 70-680). The Cisco Network Administrator track includes certification in Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT ICND1 100-105) and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA ICND2 200-105). The MCSA track includes certification in Windows 7 Enterprise Desktop Support Technician (70- 685). Information Technology students take certification exams on- campus at WCCC’s Regional Assessment/ Testing Center.

Medical Assistant This 900-hour program prepares students to work in a physician’s office, clinic, hospital or other medical facility. Learn office management, computer billing, in-office clinical procedures, patient care, and more. Required externship: (220 hours).

Medical Multiskilled Technician This 736-hour program prepares students with cross-training in more than one healthcare skill. In addition to general education and health technology core courses, students get specialized training as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA), EKG Technician (CET) and Phlebotomy Technician (CPT).

Required externship: (170 hours).

Welding Technician/AWS Certified This 600-hour program correlates to the American Welding Society’s Guide for Training and Qualification of Welding PersonnelEntry Level Welder.Fees include tuition, textbooks, apparel, tools, American Welding Society Certifications, OSHA 10-hour General Industry and American Heart First-Aid/CPR certifications.

There were nearly 366,400 computer network operators in the U.S., according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Computer networks are critical parts of almost every organization. Network administrators are responsible for the day-to-day operation of these networks.

The Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) credential focuses on the ability to design and build technology solutions. There were nearly 366,400 Computer Systems Administrators in the U.S., according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Computer systems are critical parts of almost every organization. Computer Systems Administrators are responsible for the day-to-day operation of servers and desktops on a network.

What is it?

CCNA certification validates the ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium-size routed and switched networks, including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN. What do I get?

What is it?

The Certified Business Professional® (CBP) designation is an international industry credential that validates and develops the skills of the business professional on an industryneutral basis in the areas of customer service, business communication and business etiquette.

CBP™ Customer Service Course - 16 Hr. Course Customer Service Course provides the foundation for quality customer service. Topics included in the class are: introduction to customer service, communication skills, customer analysis – knowing your customer, calming upset customers, telephone customer service, time management and stress management strategies.

CBP™ Business Etiquette - 16 Hr. Course Business Etiquette and Professionalism Course develops the concept of business etiquette. Topics included in the class are: introduction to business etiquette, greetings and introductions, meeting and board room protocol, business ethics, entertaining etiquette, telephone courtesy, internet and email etiquette, business attire and professionalism, disability etiquette and multi-cultural challenges.

CBP™ Business Communication - 16 Hr. Course Business Communication Course equips the business professional with the best communication practices.

Topics included in the class are: structuring business communication, developing a business writing style, types of business writing, writing for special circumstances, developing oral communication skills, doing business on the telephone, nonverbal communication, developing effective presentation skills and conflict and disagreement in business communication.

Basic Level and Advanced AutoCAD 2016 – Basic Level Main Campus

AutoCAD Basic Level is an introduction to basic computeraided drafting. Emphasis is placed on drawing setup, creating and modifying geometry, storing and retrieving predefined shapes, placing, rotating, and scaling objects, adding text and dimensions, using layers, coordinate systems, as well as input and output devices.

What is it?

The Cosmetology Program includes both theory classes and practical lab experiences in the school’s Cosmetology Salon.

Students practice with live models, manikins and gain real work experience with individual clients and by participating in community service projects. Students will learn the art of hairstyling, including haircut, style, color, etc., as well as how to perform facials, manicures and pedicures. Students also improve their skills by completing a 150 hour externship experience in a local salon, spa or other commercial setting.

Expand your horizons and knowledge of salon management into your program. The Cosmetology Advanced Program contains an additional 300 hours of classroom time to provide students a firm foundation in the essentials and operating a business. Students will learn advanced techniques, participate in internships, and work with small business professionals to help them develop a business plan for their salon. The growth of the aging baby-boom population will continue to spur demand for preventative medical services, which are often provided by physicians. Why this program?

The Medical Multiskilled Technician prepares students with cross-training in five certifiable medical skill areas. These areas continue to have projected job growth that is much faster than the average for all occupations. Hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, blood donor centers and other locations will need Medical Technicians to perform a variety of skilled tasks.

What is it?

In addition to general education and health technology core courses, students will receive technical skill training for Pharmacy Technician, State Tested Nursing Assistant, EKG Technician, Phlebotomy Technician and Healthcare Provider CPR /First Aid. Electrocardiogram Technicians operate machines that record electromotive variations in a patient’s heart muscle. These tests provide important data for the diagnosis of heart ailments.

Projected job growth in Medical Technician areas continues to be much faster than the average for all occupations. EKG Technicians are needed in both hospitals and diagnostics laboratories.

Technicians perform routine tasks to help prepare prescribed medications. Pharmacy Technicians are required by the State of Ohio to complete an approved training program and meet certification requirements. A phlebotomist can work in diverse health care settings and with all levels of health care professionals, from the physician to support staff. New Fire Training Facility and Burn Tower Increases Community Safety Fire /EMS Academy – Coming Next Year September 2018 Main Campus A full-time Fire/EMS Academy is in development at Warren County Career Center and will be enrolling soon for Fall 2018.

Students enrolling in this program will be eligible to apply for financial aid, pending approval by the Council on Occupational Education (COE) and the Federal Department of Education.

After five years of study and planning and a summer of construction, the countywide Fire/Rescue and Technical Rescue Training Facility and Class A Burn Building at the Warren County Career Center is opening soon. WCCC adult and high school students and all county fire departments will use the facility for essential, hands-on training. The facility is located on approximately four acres of the WCCC property. This is the first such facility in Warren County. WCCC firefighter students and all county fire departments will no longer have to travel out of the county to rent facilities for required fire and rescue training for certification.

“Our community-based Facilities Committee reviewed our facility needs last year and made several recommendations to our board,” former WCCC Superintendent Maggie Hess said.

“One of those recommendations was that we move forward with the fire training facility and tower due to the projected return on investment. They said as a group that it was a win-win for our students and the county fire departments.”

Rope Rescue Technician Tuition: $585 The Rope Rescue Technician Course provides an intense training in rope rescue fundamentals, focusing on high- and low-angle rescue techniques. Equipment selection, inspection and maintenance; knots; anchors; patient packaging; mechanical advantage systems; belaying; lowering systems; rappelling, raising and lowering systems; system safety factors; litter rigging and tending; pick-offs; and stretcher evacuations.

Confined Space Rescue Tuition: $250 Work in confined spaces, high and low angle, and hazardous environments. Practice atmospheric monitoring and confined space equipment overview. Swift Water Rescue Technician Tuition: $680 The Technician Class will continue to develop and practice technical water and rope rescue skills throughout the day.

The scenario-based class places emphasis on self-rescue and hazard avoidance, and other objectives include hydrology, recognizing and avoiding hazards and obstacles, effectively using basic rescue equipment, setting up basic rope systems, controlling in-water contact rescues, extrication, site control and scene management as well as understanding the common terminology related to all swift water rescue deployments.

Structural Collapse Technician Tuition: $300 This course will instruct students to shore and perform victim rescue in structural collapse of buildings and other type of structures.

Trench Rescue Technician Tuition: $250 This course is designed for technical rescue team members who respond to trench and/or excavation accidents. This course is taught to OSHA Standard CFR 1926 and NFPA Standards 1670 and 1006, 2011 edition. This course trains responders to the Operations Level. Topics in the course include development of protective systems, access and disentanglement of victims in trench or excavation collapses in straight trenches and T trenches.

Wide Area Search Tuition: $250 The participants will learn how to prepare for a wide area search incident locating a missing person and how to operate as a search asset at the first responder level. Participants will also learn how to effectively utilize information to manage and plan the search of a large geographic area. Additionally, the participants will learn map plotting, search marking systems and referencing systems utilized at wide area search incidents

HOW TO REGISTER

Senior citizens (62 years of age and older) may enroll in part-time, shortterm adult education classes for onehalf the cost of the tuition. Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces are entitled to take resume and interviewing skills classes at no cost. This program does not include full-time adult education programs or those considered career development programs. The above discounts will be offered only when there is adequate revenue to run the course and space is available. Any textbook and/or manual, supplies and lab fees needed for the course(s) would be an additional cost for the enrollee and is not included in the cost of the tuition.

CLASS OPERATION AND STUDENT ENROLLMENT • A class must have sufficient enrollment three days prior to the start date to run. The Warren County Career Center reserves the right to cancel a class with insufficient enrollment.

• All fees must be paid at least three days prior to the start of each class. A student is considered to be enrolled only after tuition and fees have been paid in full (or financial aid has been approved) and all entrance requirements for the program have been met.

REFUND POLICIES Information Technology & State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) Payment for these programs is due at the time of registration. To receive a refund, students must notify the school if they are unable to attend at least 72 hours prior to the start of the first Information Technology program and 24 hours prior to the start of the State Tested Nursing Assistant class. If the student does not provide the required notice, no refund will be issued.

Courses (1-599 Clock Hours)

If a program meets for only one session, a refund is available only to students who notify the Adult Education and Workforce Development Department of their withdrawal 72 hours prior to the session starting.

For programs that meet for more than one session and for 20 hours or less, full refunds are available only to students who withdraw at least 72 hours prior to the start of the first class.

Students who withdraw after that, but before the second class session begins, will be charged a prorated fee for the first class session. No refund will be available if the student withdraws after the beginning of the second class.

For programs that are 21-599 clock hours long, full refunds are available only to students who withdraw at least 72 hours prior to the start of the first class. Students who withdraw after that, but before the second class session begins, will be charged a prorated fee for the first class session and a $25 administrative fee. No refund will be available if the student withdraws after the beginning of the second class.

Programs (600 clock hours or more)

Financial obligation is calculated on a term-by-term basis. Each Full-Time program is divided into two equal terms. Once the term begins, tuition will be refunded according to Warren County Career Center’s refund policy as published in the Student Consumer Handbook. If the student is receiving Federal financial aid, an additional calculation will be made using the Return To Title IV Funds policy, which is mandated by the U.S. Department of Education.

College credit is available for WCCC program completers through the One-Year Option Program, Career Technical Assurance Guides (CTAGS) and specific articulation agreements. ) The Look for the Articulated College Credit symbol, ( symbol indicates that an agreement is in place with a local college /university to provide college credit for the specific program/class.

• *Pell Grant – Need based federal grant that does not have to be repaid. Maximum grant for the 2017-2018 award year is $5,920 for a 900 clock hour program.

Grants for programs less than 900 clock hours are prorated.

• *Subsidized Direct Loan – Need based loan. The U.S. Department of Education pays interest while the borrower is in school. Maximum award amount is $3,500 for both independent and dependent students for a 900 clock hour program. Loans for programs less than 900 clock hours are prorated. Repayment normally begins six months after the student leaves school.

• *Unsubsidized Direct Loan – Not need based. Borrower is responsible for interest during the life of the loan.

Maximum amount is $2,000 for a dependent student and $6,000 for an independent student for a 900 clock hour program. Loans for programs less than 900 clock hours are prorated. Repayment normally begins six months after the student leaves school.

• Direct Parent Plus Loan – Parents of dependent students may apply. Loan amount may not exceed total cost of attendance less any other aid.

*Federal Title IV Financial Aid Award Year 2017 - 2018 begins July 1, 2017 and ends June 30, 2018.

2. Bureau Of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR) - For

students with physical, mental or emotional disabilities that present a handicap to employment. Aid may be available to cover tuition, books, and supplies. Contact your county Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation office.

3. Veterans Educational Benefits – Eligible veterans

should call the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs for questions regarding education benefits (888.442.4551) or visit www.gibill.va.gov. A Certificate of Eligibility and the veteran’s DD214 are needed in order to certify the veteran for education benefits.
