IMPACT REPORT FISCAL YEAR 2022

WHERE COMMUNITY THRIVES

A WORD FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Friends,

2022 was a year of exciting growth for Peel Compton Foundation’s four community spaces. As we look ahead to meet the needs of a growing Northwest Arkansas, we continue our commitment to the mission these places share: connecting the community through free access to nature, education, recreation, and preservation in spaces that are inclusive, beautiful, sustainable, and promote wellness. We’re honored to celebrate this landmark year with you.

We started the year strong with celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the work led by Dr. Neil Compton and the Ozark Society to designate the Buffalo River as the United States first named “national river”. 2022 was also the first full year of Peel Compton Foundation providing regular recreational and educational programs that connect learners of all ages to the spaces where community thrives – we finished the year having hosted over 500 programs!

Perhaps you were one of over 1,000 Peel Compton Foundation friends who attended

an annual event in 2022, from the Dr. Compton Native Tree and Plant Sale, to Noon2Moon - Coler’s first-ever endurance bike race fundraiser - to Christmas at Peel Museum. These gatherings ensure the places that make Northwest Arkansas home remain free, accessible, and beautiful for everyone, every day, all year.

Join us in celebrating the impact captured by the numbers in the pages ahead. The work of Peel Compton Foundation continues through the support of volunteers, community partners, donors, sponsors, and our team – together, we make an impact.

With gratitude,

It is a pleasant park, my husband and I walk in the sunset very romantic. Passers-by will greet each other, I am a Chinese, but there is no racial discrimination, no fear, I love the people of this city.
