WIMBLEDON CHAMPIONS

Yard of the Month DECEMBER 2012

Congratulations to Charles and Vilay Smith at 16018 Gore Grass CT The Smith’s have recently planted their winter color which includes purple, white and gold Pansies, white Alyssum and golden Coleus. Large Mums in the planters on the front porch stand out amongst the fall décor that will change to Christmas in December. Healthy looking shrubs –Indian Hawthorn, Dwarf Yaupon and Holly bushes add year-round greenery to this yard. A tall Live Oak tree and Sago Palms complete the landscape behind the stone borders. For their efforts, the Smith’s will receive a $50 gift certificate from, our Yard of the Month sponsor, Plants For All Seasons, the appreciation of their neighbors and have their address highlighted on our neighborhood marquee on Cypresswood Dr.

Reminder for the Holidays REMINDER!!! SPECIAL YARD OF THE MONTH CRITERIA FOR DECEMBER

We will again incorporate holiday decorations into the criteria for choosing Yard of the Month (YOM) in December. It is a little complicated since we choose the YOM for December at the beginning of November in order to meet the deadline for the December newsletter. We are going to choose the Holiday YOM between the 4thand the 7th of December and it will actually be highlighted in the January newsletter as that month’s YOM. We will rename January to Holiday YOM in the newsletter. If you want to participate, please have your decorations up by the 4th of December. In addition, the home should have a well-manicured yard with some seasonal color and no deed restriction violations. The decorations will carry a third of the points. If you have been waiting for that push to get out there and really decorate for the holidays, this is it as the winner will receive the $50.00 gift certificate from Plants For All Seasons, have your home featured in the newsletter and on the marquee on Cypresswood Drive. Don’t forget as you are buying those seasonal colors at Plants For All Seasons to thank them for sponsoring our YOM. Let’s light the neighborhood this December!! Be creative!! Merry Decorating, Wimbledon Champions YOM Committee-Gayle Jennings and Doris Edmonds
