A Note from our VP of Preschool Admin, Reesha Davis

Pediatrics Plus Team Members,

With summer upon us, I am reminded of many things Summer brings back memories of gardens with my grandma, lake time with my family, and camping adventures with my children It has always been a season that reminds me of growth, trying new things, and exploring outside my comfort zone, so to speak

When I look at Pediatrics Plus in the summer season, I am in awe that these same things can be found within us. We grew 4 Summer Programs in just a few short months, as well as continued to develop growth in other locations. Many team members played an important part in achieving the successes that we are seeing at each of these locations Whether in our preschool, outpatient therapy, or farm settings, we know our children will have many opportunities to try something new, and, most of the time, these new opportunities will ask them to be brave and explore beyond their normal comfort zone With each small success, we will celebrate the season of Summer with our team members and the children and families we serve.

Thank you for being part of this season of Pediatrics Plus. We are so thankful for each team member and your heart to provide your best for our children and families Your talent, your knowledge, and your love for our mission to empower children to conquer their world is what sets Pediatrics Plus apart from others We hope you are as excited as we are about this season of growth and new adventures, and we cannot wait to see what we will accomplish together through the remainder of the summer.

All About Me

We want to learn about all of your favorite things!

Help us get to know you better by completing the All About M f !

We would like to challenge our team members to live in the moment but with a perspective pointing forward. We want to continue to dream small in each and every opportunity that we have serving children and families, but we want to do it with “Someday” in mind.

At Pediatrics Plus, our vision of empowering children to conquer their world is accomplished day in and day out by our team members. Without you – we cannot accomplish this vision. Pediatrics Plus is able to serve others because of one incredible resource - our people. We don’t just want to point our eyes toward “Someday” for our children and families, we want to challenge you to think about your personal “Someday” dreams. We value our team members and want to help provide resources to see you accomplish your personal “Someday” dreams. Please take time to pause, reflect, and then tell us your top 3 “Someday” dreams. Thank you for choosing to be a part of Pediatrics Plus!

As Spring transitions to Summer, so does the garden. Our spring favorites fade away while the summer ones come on strong! We're excited about offering 7 different tomato varieties as well as sweet peppers, hot peppers, corn, purple hull peas, squash, zucchini, cantaloupe, watermelon, and okra. Tomatoes and sweet peppers are readily available at our markets while other items will come available throughout the summer.

Conway's Market is on Thursdays from 2:30-4:30, and Bryant's Market is on Fridays from 2:30-4:30. We look forward to seeing you there!

Vegetable of theMonth tomoatoes

AT OUR FARMS, WE GROW THE FOLLOWING VARIETIES OF TOMATOES: CARBON, TERRA COTTA, OZARK PINK, BLACK BEAUTY, BLACK KRIM, PINK BUMBLEBEE, AND ISIS CANDY CHERRY. OUR TOMATOES, AS WITH EVERYTHING WE GROW, ARE COMPLETELY CHEMICAL-FREE!

The more you know, the more you...

The tendency to compare yourself to others is normal. It’s human nature to look to others to guide your thoughts and actions, and this can help provide inspiration or motivation for your daily life. When online, we see the highlight reel, and it can make others seem “better” than us. Algorithms promote already-popular posts and content designed to go viral. Without even realizing thoughts of comparison may pop up as you scroll through social media.

In an era of instant access, social media has confused people between knowledge, opinion, and popularity; whatever is popular is assumed to be true. Individuals who lack followers, likes, shares, and comments on social media often retreat into low self-esteem, depression, substance abuse, or even suicide. One must be aware that what they see on social media is simply the highlight reel of someone else's life.

Whether you log out for a few days or set daily time limits, spending less time on social media can give your brain a rest. Constant Comparison is exhausting, and it’s healthy to take a step back and reconnect with the world outside of your phone.

Setting Healthy Social Media Boundaries

Limit ScreenTime Be Intentional

Blocking social media during specific hours

Setting time limits on apps

Using phone settings or blockers

Removing apps temporarily

Strengthen Existing Relationships

Social media should be used to enhance existing friendships by staying in touch with friends from different locations. Focus on engaging with posts instead of accumulating followers to create meaningful interactions and strengthen connections

When using social media, set a purpose before logging on to avoid endless scrolling Do what you intended, such as sharing a photo or checking on someone, then sign off This is crucial during negative news cycles to prevent scrolling.

Engage inMeaningful Conversations

There are lots of ways to connect online about things you’re interested in and care about Sharing your experiences and interests in a positive way can bring healthy connections. Be careful of comment sections that are more argumentative than conversational
