MAGIC OF MOVEMENT ABOUT US. The Pediatric Movement Center (PMC) is an inclusive, sensory gym and therapy clinic with locations in Hagerstown and Frederick. We are an extension of your family, getting to know each child, their siblings, and the parent(s)/guardian(s) as individuals in a clean, safe, warm and nurturing environment. Our team is fully invested in the development and success of every child, empowering them through movement. With cutting-edge treatment techniques and class curriculum, we equip children and their families with the tools to grow physically, emotionally, and socially. At PMC, there is a whole community of support and resources for you. One of our goals is to overcome obstacles as a community of parents, professionals, instructors and peers. Our therapy and recreational programs encourage children to become stronger than they were yesterday. It’s all about embracing the journey, together.

SWIMMING | AGES 1-1 0 YEARS AVAILABLE AT PMC AQUATICS AT HAGERSTOWN Level 1: Sea Turtles Level 1 is designed specifically for toddlers and their caregivers. In a warm, supportive environment, young swimmers will begin to build comfort and confidence in the water through playful and engaging activities. Skills include: getting accustomed to the water, safe water entry and movement, blowing bubbles, wetting hands and face, submerging mouth and nose, kicking while blowing bubbles and enjoying water play Level 2: Sea Turtles Level 2 is designed for preschool-aged children and their caregivers who are ready to build foundational swim skills in a fun, nurturing environment. Through interactive activities and gentle guidance, swimmers will grow more confident and comfortable in the water. Skills include: entering and becoming familiar with the water, safe movement in and around the pool, blowing bubbles, submerging mouth and nose, kicking legs while blowing bubbles and playing with confidence

Level 1: Goldfish Level 1 is designed for beginner to intermediate swimmers who are ready to build confidence and foundational swim skills in a small-group, student-only setting. Swimmers are guided with gentle encouragement to explore movement and control in the water while developing comfort and basic technique. This class focuses on water safety, developing independence, and preparing swimmers for more advanced techniques.

3-5 YEARS | $30/lesson*

Level 2: Goldfish Level 2 is a progression of our foundational class, geared toward swimmers who have developed basic water confidence and are ready for more independent and refined movement. In this level, children begin mastering basic swim techniques building endurance, and breath control while continuing to learn through structured, playful instruction. This class supports the transition toward stroke development and longer, more confident swims — while keeping learning fun and engaging. *Swim lessons are booked by the session

Level 1: Dolphins Level 1 is designed for swimmers who are comfortable in the water and ready to refine their technique, strength, and coordination. This level emphasizes independence in the pool and builds the foundation for more advanced swim strokes and endurance. This class prepares swimmers for deeper water, longer distances, and more advanced swim techniques in a supportive, energetic setting.

Level 2: Dolphins Level 2 is ideal for advanced swimmers who are ready to build endurance, refine stroke technique, and swim confidently in deep water. Swimmers in this class focus on precision, fluidity, and efficiency while mastering more complex swim skills. This level helps swimmers transition from strong recreational swimmers toward pre-competitive skill sets, fostering confidence, stamina, and stroke consistency.

5-10 YEARS | $30/lesson* *Swim lessons are booked by the session

Private Swim Lessons: Whether your child is brand new to the water, working toward mastering a specific stroke, or preparing for more advanced swimming, our instructors will create a customized plan based on your priorities.

At the first session, the instructor will work with the swimmer and parent/guardian to identify individual goals and design a lesson structure that supports progress at the right pace. Private lessons are ideal for those seeking focused attention, faster skill development, or additional support beyond group settings. These sessions foster confidence, safety, and skill-building in a supportive environment.

PRIVATE & SEMI-PRIVATE All Ages

Semi-Private Swim Lessons: Designed for swimmers of similar age or ability, these small group lessons provide personalized instruction while fostering teamwork and motivation through peer engagement. At the first session, the instructor will work with swimmers (and their parents/guardians) to set shared or individualized goals. Semiprivate lessons are ideal for siblings, friends, or swimmers who benefit from learning alongside a peer while still receiving close guidance from an instructor. *Swim lessons are booked by the session

Developed by licensed Physical Therapists, the Strength and Agility Program is specifically designed as a pre-conditioning program for young student-athletes preparing for upcoming Fall or Winter sports seasons. This targeted training will enhance overall athletic performance by building strength, speed, power, agility, and endurance. Sessions are led by an experienced personal trainer in a small-group setting, ensuring personalized attention and expert guidance.

Gym birthday parties include: our rock wall, swings, clubhouse, bounce floor, monkey bars, light room. Pool birthday parties include: exclusive use of our therapeutic pool with on-duty lifeguards. Our instructors run the event from start to finish, including setup & cleanup before & after your celebration, as well as planning and leading games and activities created especially for you. If your child struggles with feeding, we can help. Our clinic provides expert care for children 18 months to 7 years, combining occupational therapy and speech-language pathology to build healthy eating habits and essential skills. We work with your child to foster confidence and less stress at mealtimes.

We’re here to support you in providing the best care for your infant. Our Beautiful Beginnings program offers education, training, and support to help you gain the knowledge and tools to promote healthy development and feel confident in your caregiving.

We’re here to help your child overcome daily challenges and thrive. Our occupational therapists collaborate with your family to address sensory processing challenges, emotional hurdles, and daily routines. By focusing on your child’s strengths, we create a personalized plan designed to promote real, lasting progress.

Take your athletic performance to the next level. This program is designed to help you improve strength, speed, power, agility, and endurance, with a personalized approach that focuses on your specific goals. Program includes a private consultation with a registered dietitian!

Our intensive therapy program is tailored to your child’s unique needs, whether they’re non-ambulatory or striving for high-level fitness.

Available at our Frederick and Hagerstown clinics, each session lasts a couple of hours, with frequency based on your child’s specific goals.

OUTPATIENT IN THE COMMUNITY

THERAPEUTIC EDUCATION

Pediatric Movement Center offers skilled outpatient speech, occupational, and physical therapy to students on site at participating private schools and daycares. Therapy appointments are coordinated between PMC and the organization

Our team brings valuable resources directly to our community through outreach, educational seminars for families and local practitioners, and occasional therapy screenings in partnership with local organizations.

ADOS-2

Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) is an in-person test for children ages 12 months and older to assess developmental level and language skills. A licensed MD will use the results of the ADOS-2 with their own assessments to diagnoses for Autism Spectrum Disorder.
