Commander INTRODUCTION Cow flow is an important factor while milking cows, and with Pearson’s Commander Crowd gate cows are kept near the entrance of the parlour during the milking until the last row ! . The Commander gate handles two jobs in the milking process , the first - in keeping cows moving forward towards the entrance of the parlour during milking , the second - is cleaning the collecting yard once the milking is finished. Both these jobs dramatically speed up the total milking process.
Efficient time saving tool A Pearson Commander Crowd Gate is one of the most efficient time saving tools in the milking process. Particularly so when there is only one operator in the milking pit, not having the operator hunt in cows from the collecting yard during milking decreases the overall milking time and keeps the operator in the milking pit. Once milking is finished the gate is sent to its home position, the scrapping paddles lower and cleans the yard as it moves. Once home the collecting yard is clean and ready for the next milking.
Hydraulic Rail System For slow, steady movement towards the parlour and strength when needed, a hydraulic system is used to drive the backing gate. Connected to double notched, heavy duty channel rails it can move the most stubborn cows. On larger gates, up to 2 rails may be needed
Gate Construction To ensure long life, the gate is manufactured from heavy duty steel and is then fully galvanised. A strong hock rail at the front of the backing gate is to ensure good cow movement towards the parlour.
Gate Control A control unit is situated at the back of the milking parlour to activate the backing gate. A timed forward motion brings the cows up to the parlour and a Home button brings the gate back to the ram box position. Extra switches may be installed on the parlour entrance gates to automatically activate the backing gate once open. This eliminates the user from going to the back of the parlour.
