A Note from the assistant principal Attendance is very important to you child’s academic success. We must receive an excuse in writing for all absences, late arrivals and early check-outs. Please make sure you provide the school with a written note for all absences. If your child misses school for a medical appointment, please make sure you send a note to the school from the medical provider. All attendance notes must be received within 3 days of the absence. State law mandates that a student must attend school 90% of the time each semester to receive credit for each course. Therefore, if a student is absent more than 10% of the
total days offered, regardless of whether the absences are excused or unexcused, the student will lose credit for academic courses missed. An appeal process may be initiated through the AP office to have credit reinstated due to extenuating circumstances. Tardies—All students must be seated in their classrooms by 8:40 a.m. Students that accumulate 4 tardies or more within a grading period, will be assigned to a 1 hour after school detention. Students may be dropped off after 7:30 a.m. each morning.
