LEED EXPERIENCE

OVERVIEW

Our team is committed to bringing forth the policies of sustainability in a project whenever possible. We seek to promote the idea, and encourage our clients to incorporate LEED or “green incentive” strategies and systems within their program. Working closely with our consultants and being familiar with today’s building systems has allowed our team to succeed in creating sustainable projects.

RECENT SUSTAINABLE PROJECTS

The Tamara Peacock Company Design team recently completed a Green Initiative Design Project in Wilton Manors. This is a 15unit apartment building that utilizes sustainable practices such as the recycling of site materials and demolition waste, stormwater management, minimization of heat island effect, water efficiency, energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, use of regional materials and previous site materials. TTPC has also recently completed the design and construction of Foster Park Community Center which received LEED Silver Accreditation. We are also currently working on Delray Full Service Center. A Palm Beach School that is utilizing green sustainable practicies in the renovations to their current facilities, as well as their new construction .

CREATIVE PROJECTS

Our Team’s knowledge in the field of sustainability allows us to creatively incorporate sustainable practices into the project. We are able to achieve a goal while maintaining a beautiful design.

CUSTOMIZATION

Working closely with the Client and our LEED Consultants, our team is able to customize the sustainable projects to the needs of the Client and the Project.

SAVE MONEY

Energy and water efficient design is fundamental in creating a project that will, overtime, give the client a return on investment; while simultaneously lessening the impact on the environment

The amount of technology in buildings and homes is rapidly growing and, effectively using this to create sustainable designs will help lessen the negative environmental impact of our built environment.

KEY TO

Our Key to Success, just as with the majority of our projects, is our team’s understanding of the scope of the projects and the built environment. Taking a holistic approach to each project and interfacing amongst the consultants to ensure each aspect of the project is realized and catered to enables our team to stand out amongst others. Making a team effort to achieve a goal is necessary to have a successful project.

EXPERIENCE WITH BIM AND TECHNOLOGY

All stages of the project will be performed using our Quality Control and Quality Assurance (QA/QC) manual. QA/QC are achieved by adequate planning, coordination, supervision and technical direction; plus, proper definition of requirements and procedures. In addition, we pride ourselves in being very familiar with the necessary software and skills necessary during all phases of design and construction, which allows us to facilitate information transfers and maintain open communication between different members of the team, as the workload tends to overlap between different departments.

All workstations are licensed with visualization and scheduling software. Having understood the project and its need, we will implement phasing strategies and create internal checkpoints to make sure that quality service is provided within the budget and on time. Having open communication between our clients and ourselves is a very important aspect of our job. With Building Information Modeling (BIM), we are also able to synchronize and prioritize with a set time frame.

Building Information Modeling, most commonly referred to by its acronym BIM, is a digital representation and functional characteristic of a facility. It is a shared knowledge resource for information about a structure or project which builds a reliable foundation for decision during its life cycle defines as existing from earliest conception to demolition. This program helps professionals to build more efficiently and cost effectively, while simultaneously managing and maintaining the project. It’s a cross-professional tool which allows different members of the overall design and construction team to coordinate their work with the overall completion of the project. With this technology, we can effectively plan and synchronize with contractors and subcontractor to produce documents that captures the priorities of the project while respecting the budget.

Our ability to produce the required services is backed by our experiences in the field for 30 years.

MIRAMAR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The Tamara Peacock Company was the Prime Architectural Consultant for the SMART Program GOB Renovations of Thurgood Marshall ES. The scope of work included building envelope renovations, ADA restroom upgrades and replacement of mechanical systems components. The building envelope renovations included a complete re-roofing of all facility buildings and in some instances a re-roof down to deck due to moisture entrapment. The ADA restroom upgrade consisted of re-designing bathroom layouts to conform to the ADA standards. The replacement of the mechanical system included replacements of 2 Cooling Towers, 1 Chiller, 16 Air Handler HVAC Components, and 8 Duct Heaters. This scope also included the repair and replacement of the existing walkway conditions, which has acrylic panels which no lon ger conform to the design standards of the district. So our team had to create a unique way of renovating the walkways to meet the district standards.
