BAPTISM AT PEACHTREE At Peachtree, we celebrate both infant and believer baptism. For infants, baptism marks the official beginning of the partnership between the church and the family to raise the child as Jesus’ disciple. When a child is baptized, the parents make a profession of faith on behalf of their child. As the parents claim that Jesus is their Lord and Savior, they also make commitments to raise their child to know Jesus Christ. In baptism, a child becomes a part of the church family, but they must one day make their own decision to follow Jesus Christ.

Requirements • At least one parent must be an active and local member of Peachtree. • At least one parent must attend the Baptism Workshop prior to the baptism Sunday selected (even if you have participated before). • For infant baptism, we recommend the infant be 18 months or younger. To register your child, visit: peachtreechurch.org/baptism

ACOLYTES

An acolyte plays an important role in our traditional worship, bringing the light of Christ into the service and leading us out into the world to be the light of Christ. Today’s acolytes:

8:45 Grace Graham Thomas Ellison

Sunday morning flowers may be dedicated in the memory or honor of a loved one or to commemorate a special occasion such as a baptism. For details or to reserve a date, please contact Heather Oliver at holiver@ peachtreepres.org or 404-842-3146.

Acolyte Ministry The acolyte ministry is for children in grades 2–6 and is a vital role in our traditional worship services. The word acolyte comes from an ancient Greek word meaning “helper.” Acolytes help during the worship service to light the Christ candles by carrying a flame in and out of the sanctuary. This represents the light of Christ among us while we worship together and how we carry his light back out into the world as we go. Families are asked to commit to a minimum of two church services per calendar period.
