Keeping You in Stitches: Block Party

Join the Block Party! Learn a new knitting/crochet stitch each month and create a block. OR bring your current creative project and hang out with other crafty people. This is a free, drop-in event. Ages 18+. No registration required.
Breathe & Meditate Session

Soundbath and Stretch
Tuesday, March 4th, 2025, 6:30pm Storytime Room
Join Peachtree City Library and Flow by Naila for a 1 hour de-stressing and relaxation session. The session will begin with 20 minutes of gentle stretches followed by a meditative sound bath using crystal singing bowls, koshi chimes, and a sea drum to guide you into a state of relaxation. Come prepared with a mat, optional eye mask, pillow, and water bottle. Seating is limited. Registration required. Advanced Beginner Spanish

Join Peachtree City Library staff for Advanced Beginner Spanish with Mango. Learn how to use Mango Languages as well as practice with other attendees for perfect pronunciation. For ages 14+. Electronic books and audiobooks have taken the digital world by storm. Cherese Cadet with Peachtree City Library will share more about the options for e-reading on kindles and tablets. She’ll demonstrate how to get eBooks and audiobooks for free through the library. Learn about Georgia Download Destination and the Libby app for library card holders and how to download and navigate the app and checkout books. Must have a current library card along with your library card PIN/ password. This FREE event will be held at The Gathering Place, 203 McIntosh Trail, Peachtree City, GA. AARP Smart Driving Course

The AARP Smart Driver course teaches valuable defensive driving strategies and provides a refresher of the rules of the road. Plus, you may qualify for a multi-year automobile insurance discount by completing the course (check with your auto insurance agent for details). This event will be held on the lower level of the library in the Floy Farr Room. Seating is limited.

The Riverman by Ben McGrath
For decades, Dick Conant paddled the rivers of America, covering the Mississippi, Yellowstone, Ohio, Hudson, as well as innumerable smaller tributaries. These solo excursions were epic feats of planning, perseverance, and physical courage. At the same time, Conant collected people wherever he went, creating a vast network of friends and acquaintances who would forever remember this brilliant and charming man even after a single meeting.
Ben McGrath, a staff writer at The New Yorker, was one of those people. In 2014 he met Conant by chance just north of New York City as Conant paddled down the Hudson, headed for Florida.
