Dan Albas has a message for those who didn’t give him their vote on Oct. 19. “I have to work harder to get their support,” he told the crowd of roughly 80 friends, family members and supporters gathered at the West Kelowna Yacht Club on Gellatly Rd. Monday evening.
“
It takes a tremendous amount of dedication for a person to subject themselves to the grueling amount of work it takes to run a campaign like we did this year. Win or lose, I think my fellow candidates deserve a lot of respect for what they’ve done.” - MP Dan Albas
“It comes back to the reason I ran in the first place, to make sure the citizens I was working to represent receive proper representation in Ottawa so their voice is heard,” he continued. Albas, who ran for the Conservative Party of Canada against Liberal Karley Scott, New Democratic candidate Angelique Wood and the Green Party’s Robert Mellalieu, is back for a second term as Member of Parliament in the riding of Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola with 24,425 votes, narrowly beating out Scott who garnered 23,028 votes. Scott was followed by Wood with 11,939 votes and Mellalieu with 2,428 votes. ERIN CHRISTIE
