Thank you for your support

I am profoundly grateful for your philanthropic support of cardiovascular services at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center. You play a very important role in enabling us to expand services to care for our growing community. Your generosity helps us to upgrade equipment so that we can continue to offer leading edge diagnostics and the latest technologies in heart and vascular care. You also enable us to offer preventative heart screenings, staff education, and financial assistance to patients in need.

I am very proud of our award-winning, nationally recognized Cardiovascular Center. Thank you for helping us ensure that, in the event of a cardiovascular emergency, you and your loved ones will not need to travel far from home to receive safe, compassionate, life-saving care.

With deepest gratitude,

Now offering expanded cardiovascular imaging services

Five years ago, our generous community contributed more than $1.2 million to purchase advanced cardiovascular diagnostic imaging equipment. That new techology revolutionized our department, and we are so grateful for your investment. Since then, we have not stopped improving!

In early 2022, PeaceHealth St. Joseph Cardiovascular Center partnered with Mt. Baker Imaging to ensure that our skilled physicians have access to the most advanced and comprehensive suite of cardiac imaging technologies available in Northwest Washington. Outpatient services include many specialized CT and MRI scanning procedures specific to heart and vascular diagnostics and treatment planning.

Also, we recently opened a newly expanded Cardiovascular Imaging Center in the Marble Building located at 2980 Squalicum Parkway. The new 10,000 square foot center includes five vascular ultrasound rooms, six echocardiaogram labs, expanded nuclear medicine capabilities, and a Cardiovascular Recovery and Procedure Unit with four pre-care and post-care beds.

This expansion of outpatient services helps us to prepare for the future, frees up space at St. Joseph for urgent procedures that must be performed in the hospital, and ensures access to critical cardiovascular diagnostic services for our community, leading to improved overall heart care.

Your heartfelt dedication to the health of your community is evident with every gift you make.

We are grateful for your support of Cardiac Rehab

Cardiac rehabilitation is an important part of healing after a major cardiac event. Our excellent program includes supervised physical activity, lifestyle education and support. Because lack of insurance coverage or unaffordable copays can be a barrier to participation for some, the Foundation offers Cardiac Rehab Patient Scholarships. Thanks to donors like you, $14,343 has been allocated in the past two years to empower patients to defend against repeat cardiac events and move confidently down the path to recovery.

Additionally, philanthropy made it possible to upgrade the most critical piece of equipment in the Cardiac Rehab department — the Cardiac Telemetry System. The expanded system allows heart monitoring for up to 16 patients as they excercise, compared with just 12 patients on the old system. The new system also has the capacity to connect directly to the patient’s medical record rather than scanning in the results.

New Hybrid Operating Room

In February, PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center opened a state-of-art, 1076 square-foot hybrid surgery suite – the only one of its kind north of Everett. The hybrid OR integrates advanced imaging technology, allowing surgeons to work on highly complex cases.

Surgical teams are now able to perform combined diagnostic, interventional and surgical procedures in one setting, maximizing patient safety and operational efficiency by enabling a single episodeof-care approach for multi-specialty procedures in one location. Initially, the hybrid OR will host vascular, cardiovascular and electrophysiology procedures but due to its integrated imaging features it will also accommodate other specialty services like neurosurgery, orthopedics and urology.

The hybrid OR, along with another new (non-hybrid) operating room will expand surgery capacity from 680 to about 740 patients per month.

The addition of a hybrid OR allows us to serve more patients in our cardiovascular program, maximizing the impact of the investments you have made toward the future of heathcare care in our community.
