Beck, who usually shoots with the Nikon D5 and D4S, recently tested the new 20-megapixel, DX-format Nikon D7500 and was impressed with its performance. With a continuous shooting speed of up to 8fps, Beck was able to capture sequences of surfers, mountain bikers and other athletes with ease, thanks to its “surprisingly fast frame rate,â€? he notes. For Beck, he says, “the most important thing to me was that it was fast, it could follow focus and the lenses were sharp. For a photographer, that’s the bottom line.â€?

AF-P DX NIKKOR 1020mm f/4.5-5.6G VR Ideal for DX-format DSLRs like the D7500 or D500, this lens is a versatile wide-angle zoom with Nikon’s Vibration Reduction technology built in. You’ll enjoy 3.5 stops of VR, per CIPA standards, so feel free to drop those shutter speeds and let the light in. Autofocusing is driven by a pulse motor for quick, quiet operation—perfect for video work or candid portraits. Thanks to its internal focusing, the lens won’t change size as you adjust your focus distance. You can instantly switch from autofocusing to manual focus simply by turning the focus ring. This lens can focus on objects as close as 8.6 inches away. It has a seven-blade aperture for beautiful bokeh when shooting wide open and stops down to f/29.
