In "Personal Legends of Piemonte" you're invited into the lives of 12 Piemontesi, including wine and cheese makers, bar and restaurant owners, herbalists, a teacher, bureaucrat and a car mechanic. It is Italy, after all. The reader will get a sense of their essence and how these productive people have been able to fulfil their destiny. I had to cross the Atlantic aboard a sailboat and live in several European countries to find my bliss; these Piemontesi didn't have to move a mile to find their own. I introduce each interview with a story, describing what I learned while living amongst this Italian tribe for 7 years, in fact, it will begin to feel like a pilgrimage. Not necessarily one in search of a blessing or penance, but lessons are learned; work, family and tradition are central themes. Forging the past with the present, relying on local communities and small towns when faced with a pandemic. Italy is the gift that
keeps on giving and some say work is the passport to serenity for the Piedmontese. I believe them. These people are tough and industrious and formed by the mountains and they are worth reading about - forget Tuscany; Piemonte is the secret that needs to be told.
